I live way out in the country, past Elgin. I had a long list of things I needed but would have been in and out, and spent a good deal of money. It was 3:45. The door was locked. Got back in my truck and just as I pulled away someone came sneaking up to the door and turned away. If you say you are open until 4:00 then be open till 4!!! Shop local everyone says.

This is an excellent locally owned store with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The space has a comfortable atmosphere and a small lending library. This is a good place to meet like minded people and has over the decades become a bit of a hub to find out information about farmers, workshops, environmental issues and alternative health in the local network. I like that some of the dairy and meat products are local. There is a good selection of bulk food, personal care products, books, supplements, cleaning supplies and packaged food. In-store baked goods are excellent and there is gluten-free selection. This is my favorite place to shop in Sussex.

Purchased a liquid calcium supplement and opened it up to try it after leaving the store only to find that it was full of chunks and had expired months before. Brought it back to the store and the woman working said tjat there was nothing she could do for us and that she did not see any chunks. Terrible customer service.
