We love seafood & we also enjoy supporting local, small businesses, especially the ones that are passionate about what they do & what they’re selling.
The House of Fish is just that kind of place. It is worth the drive & if you don’t drive, get a taxi. Even my 4 & 2 year old love it.
People comment on the service being slow - but I’d much rather wait a bit longer for fresh food than microwaved processed junk you’ll get ordering a filet-o-fish from McDonald’s.
The servers have always been polite, give what you expect to receive. I know having worked in the service industry, patience goes a long way especially when a small business is busy.
Danny (owner) has put blood, sweat & tears into this restaurant & it shows through his effort in plate presentation & flavours. There are so many little added details to the decor too - keeping with the ocean theme.
I put four out of five for atmosphere because this place deserves more people in it.
Don’t be put off by the prices - the portions are ample & you won’t go home hungry - & if you are, grab a filet-o-fish on the way home - though it won’t taste the same & probably give you a stomach ache
Truly the best seafood around, and I've been looking!
Excellent meal. Had fried Oysters and Scallops with Cole slaw and French fries.
All cooked perfectly and tasty. Service was fast.
Great atmosphere in the restaurant.
Though this place seems to be off the beaten path, it’s worth the visit. We will return.

We went last night/evening and the seafood chowder was five stars delicious ! The word ‘amazing’ does not give justice to it.
My husband had the oysters and I had shrimp , Triple D should come to this establishment for the recognition it deserves . We gave four stars not because of the food, but because the noise level of music was a smidge too loud and the only thing we look for in service is the simple task of keeping a water glass at least half full . That did not occur .
My husband and I enjoy dropping in at the House of Fish from time to time. Some of our favorite dishes are the red snapper, scallops, boom boom, shrimp, and lastly, the hushpuppies are a must have with every dish. If you want good food, good service without all the hassle of an overly crowded restaurants then try this place.
Seafood GREASY. Hush puppies served after the meal was over, then with wet raw corn meal at center.
Amazing food! Lamb Chops are cooked to perfection! 🥰
Last night was the first time I got the pleasure to eat at the House of Fish. I am honestly mad at myself for not going any sooner. Ordered the maple glazed salmon and shrimp, and a few other items. When I tell you these dishes were absolutely phenomenal. The owner hand delivered the dishes and was so polite and even took the time to come around and ask how was the food and make sure everything was to our liking. I cannot wait to return to try out other dishes they offer on the menu. Definitely going to be a return customer. A big thank you to the owner and his staff for being tentative to our service while we were there.
Everything was absolutely amazing. The food, staff, the great vibes, the food lol.Our waitress Terry was awesome. The owner was amazing and made the time there very enjoyable, and the other gentleman was great and so sweet ( didn't get his name). I left full and happy. Couldn't ask for a better experience at a restaurant.

What can we say about Danny Hayes cookin’ at the House of Fish in Aberdeen,NC? Well, how about this: We seldom return to restaurants a 2nd time, but we’ve eaten at Danny’s place three times and loved his cooking more and more with every visit. The portions are extremely large. The seasonings are so tasty. The wait staff are very friendly and pleasant. Hey, we’re gonna say it. Danny’s place is the best restaurant in NC in our fussy opinion. Hurry on down there folks.😋 yum!
Don't miss this off-the-beaten-path treasure while in Pinehurst or Southern Pines. Truly delicious fish and seafood prepared by a chef with the greatest personality. Our wait staff were endlessly patient with our dozens of questions and so very gracious.

Went in to get some flounder, and plates came out looking good and flounder was spoilt. Sour tasting on 2 flounder plates. We both got sick after eating and still had to pay the bill. The ridiculous part was when the we brought it to the waitress attention, she immediately when to get new plates and instead for us to try it again. Even thought it was all fried in the same oil. That place is not worth it, still have the bad taste in my mouth.
