So the sides are horrible the only thing good with sides is fried or coleslaw but agin the first may be a miss that day. Let's not talk about the price of the plate and the sides is very very small. Can you say overcharged esp when your nuggets ain't even crispy they soggy. Wait is ridiculous at time. Please call in you food and go inside to pick it up not dirty thru you will be waiting like u waited during ordering.

The food was great. Hadn't had Golden Skillet since the late 80's in Puerto Rico with my mom since I was a kid. Glad it is still around and this location has great food and friendly employees. Glad I stopped by today while in a work trip from Fayetteville, NC to Ahoskie, NC.

First time there. The food was ok. Fried chicken needed a little more seasoning.
I hadnt seen or been to a Golden Skillet on years and was lucky enough to find one close enough to home...or so I thought. I was extremely disappointed upon eating their food. I ended up getting a 12 piece chicken dinner and none of the food was good at all. Not the chicken nor the sides. The chicken was old and tasted like it had been cooked in old burnt grease and the sides were just awful. I really dont know what to say about those. They seriously need some new cooks or something. $40 was a lot for this disappointment and I do not recommend it to anyone and wont be back unless they do better.

If you're not familiar with the area or casually looking from the highway, this place is a sure miss, building looks semi abandoned and seriously dated, a voice at the drive through was a shocker yet pleasant surprise, fish was freshly cooked, flavorful and extra crispy, miniaturize sides. Golden Skillet is an old time hidden gem!!

We just left your restaurant and picked up from the drive thru. Why are these portions this small. It's ridiculous. I bought a BBQ sandwich combo and the sandwich is just puny in regards to price. Same with the serving of Mac and cheese that we paid extra for with the combo. I've known the owner since I was a kid a this is just appalling tbh.
