The French fries with Parm and herbs appetizer was large and pretty good. Had a ribeye with veggies. The steak was cooked as ordered and had a smokey flavor to it. The veggies were excellent. Also had a flat iron steak with risotto. The steak was cooked to order and it had a different flavor. The risotto tasted good to me but I am not a pro with that. The flat iron steaks are tender but there was one of those white silverskin (very hard to cut and impossible to eat) strips in it and it basically ruined my experience with the flat iron steak. I won't order another one of those. No sirloins on the menu, which I would have ordered. We ordered a lemon dessert but it had more of a lime taste to it and was very tart. We didn't finish it, and our excellent waitress took it off the bill for us. We both had iced tea and it was very fresh, clear and actually the best iced tea I've had at a restaurant in Albemarle. Can't wait to go back and try either the burger or the pizza! I didn't take any pictures. Sorry.

So glad to see real food with an attitude of out of the box excitement. ??
My birthday is coming and I think this will be the place. Drinks are great as well!

Parking: We all know with in town dining you may have to walk a few steps. Depending on the time of day rush.

This is our favorite place to eat out for dinner! The staff is wonderful and the food is phenomenal! My favorite is the shrimp scampi dip ❤️ I could literally live off that stuff.

I would have loved to try this place and give it a good review, but I was unable to because they were only taking reservations. I didn’t figure a small town like Albemarle you would have to make reservations for 3 people at a pizza place. So we went to Pizzantica instead and had a wonderful meal.

We went for lunch so service was a little slow, but we really enjoyed the food! I got the chicken salad sandwich and my husband got a pizza. For dessert, we split the peach cobbler. Everything was really great! Especially loved the fries and ranch!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wood Fire Pizza Restaurant and indulging in their signature Penthouse Pizza. Let me tell you, it was an experience worth raving about!
The Penthouse Pizza at Wood Fire is a masterpiece. Cooked to perfection in their traditional wood-fired oven, every bite was a delightful blend of flavors. The crust was crisp yet tender, with a wonderful smoky aroma that only a wood-fired oven can impart. Topped with a delicious combination of fresh ingredients, each ingredient shone through without overwhelming the others. It's evident that the chefs here take great pride in their craft.
Apart from the outstanding food, the service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was seamless from start to finish.
The atmosphere of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The cozy yet vibrant ambiance, coupled with the inviting aroma of pizzas baking in the wood-fired oven, created the perfect setting for a memorable meal.
In conclusion, Wood Fire Pizza Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're looking for a place with phenomenal wood-fired pizzas, excellent service, and a great atmosphere, look no further than Wood Fire. I can't wait to return and try more of their enticing menu offerings.
In addition Lindsy the bartender took great care of us. My friend and I had a couple IPA's but her service and astute attention to our needs was excellent!

2nd and last time eating here. Pappardelle Pasta came out as a tri colored boxed rotini. Ran out of scallops. We were told they ran out of buns for burger but burger showed up with bun?? We could barely hear the server.

My husband and I have been there three times now and every time hoped things have improved!
I have been in the restaurant business for 30 years and published a cookbook--So I think I know a little bit about good food. Also, my husband and I have traveled the world experiencing all kinds of delicious foods!
I love the fact we now have a "real" restaurant in beautiful downtown Albemarle!!
There could be several additions made to the comfortable surroundings to make a statement- although we don't go out to eat to see and be in a wonderful atmosphere! We want good food, good service and a wonderful experience.
The menu is very limited--I've had the salmon twice--it was good, cooked perfectly--when the menu says polenta , I had invisioned a delicious soft creamy dish seasoned with roasted garlic, roasted red peppers with the salmon laid across the polenta. Instead there was a small square of white corn grits fried in the fryer that was flavorless, tough and hard!
The dessert menu is distressing--to say the least?? With fresh fruits plentiful and readily available, why wouldn't you take advantage of that and have something other than Creme Brule--it takes no skill or thinking to make that! When the menu says whipped cream, I expect real whipped cream--NOT something squirted from a can--
Our server was wonderful--clean,polished, professional--we will try again in a couple of months and see what the menu has to offer-
In this business you learn something new EVERY DAY--good luck!

First time here as I only recently moved to Albemarle.
Atmosphere is ok. Could use a bit more life, character, and maybe a touch of color. Definitely do not expect to watch a game here(I realize it is not a sports bar - but 2 TINY tvs?)
Ordered an appetizer - Caprese.Fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, and a balsamic glaze.
It was ok. Could use a bit more balsamic. Overall, it's not bad.
Ordered the The Penthouse Pizza (minus the pepperoni and prosciutto).
Nice crust. I liked the flavor of it. The sauce was not bad. Thankfully, it was definitely not sweet, which I do not like. Cannot complain. I ate all but 2 slices!

The bartender was Lindsay. She was on point. Very pleasant and helpful.
(She was good enough for me to tip her 50% if that gives you any idea)
She is the type of server that would bring people back multiple times. I was a bartender for many years. She is a keeper.

I would definitely go back to try other pizzas and perhaps 1 or 2 other dishes.
