My preferred Mexican restaurant in Albemarle. They have increased prices though. The building is showing alot of wear and tear. Needs a face-lift bad. But still like the food better.

Wasn’t full so we had no wait for a table, the service was great, loved our waiter. They had our food out in around 15 minutes, definitely worth the wait. Almost tasted like my own family’s food, very authentic and an overall great experience.

I live out of town, but my family frequently raves about this establishment. After a recent visit through the drive-thru, I'm happy to say I agree with their sentiments. I also have to commend this restaurant on their efficiency; I've never been to a Mexican restaurant that offers the opportunity to collect takeout though a drive-thru... It's fascinating!

These are the best chile poblanos I've ever had. They blanch the skin off the pepper and do not bread them before frying, in traditional fashion; both are key steps. The chile to queso ratio is right, and their red sauce is so savory. I come here a lot; it's a good vibe, and very cold draft beer.

The salsa and chips are very good. All the food has great flavor. Not spicy unless you want it to be. Very large portions. Wait staff was very quick and friendly. Service was great and very timely.

I ordered a total of 4 quesadillas 3 of which were chicken and cheese. Upon opening up the quesadillas I noticed it was shredded chicken which is not what I normally get from jalepenos. I tried a bite and the chicken was like rubber between a soggy mess of a tortilla. I then called jalepenos to express my concerns. They told me the shredded chicken is different than the grilled chicken and I could come in and exchange them for the grilled chicken quesadillas. I then asked if I needed to bring the other quesadillas back and was told I could bring them or leave them. Once I got there to pickup the new quesadillas, a bald little man started to barbarously mention how the grilled chicken cost more. I explained that it’s fine, I would pay the difference. He then demanded the original quesadillas which were still at my house. And told me that I would have to get charged full price since I didn’t bring that mush back to him. My family and I will no longer be returning to this business after the complete disrespect that was shown. Eventually it will catch up to them.
