We've eaten here a few times in the past and it's always been okay. The food is normally okay, and the service is normally pretty good. However, this afternoon, we went and the service was somewhere between bad and terrible. The people who were seated 15 minutes after we ORDERED got their salads and appetizers before we did. Keep in mind, the same waitress was serving us and them. We had to ask the waitress twice before we got it. Then she still forgot to bring our appetizer out. We actually got our appetizers after our meals already eaten. And we had to ask for it a couple of times. She told us she was sorry, that she forgot to put the order in, and did we still want them? We said yes, she walked.off, then came back a few minutes later, told us they would not charge us for the appetizer, and then asked us again if we really wanted it. I said yes for the third time. I want the appetizer. All four people in our party ordered the filet mignon. Three of the four steaks were decent, the fourth one was kind of tough. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of choices for steak around Albemarle. For $165, I expect at least good food and excellent service. We received neither. I seriously doubt I will ever go back.

I will NEVER return. We sat there for over a hour and the waitress had no idea where our order is. Then she had the nerve to tell us we needed to reorder and still pay full price. I’m never returning ever again.

On the day we visited the kitchen appeared to be behind or overloaded. The 2 filets were an excellent cut, very tender and prepared as ordered. One was the correct size, but the other appeared to be 2-3 oz short of the menu description. 1 of the 4 sides was not served and had to be requested. A 2nd of 4 arrived at the table cold and remaining 2 sides were well prepared but were barely warm when arriving at the table. It could have just been a bad night, I may give it another try someday.

The food is very good. I had the filet and it was very nice and tender. My baked sweet potato was warm but not warm enough to really melt the butter. My husband's steak was not warm but cooked perfect. The couple that was with us had to send back their prime rib because it was cold. It was cooked right, just cold. For the price, it should have been better and not have to be sent back for being cold. That was really the only issue. Otherwise, they have great steaks here. The owners are super nice people! We will dine here again. I really like the coziness atmosphere. I wish the fireplace would have been lit, although it wasn't cold in there.

This place is beautiful. My husband has been here twice, and this was my first time.I completely understand that most chefs hate when someone orders their steak Well-Done so I ordered it that way and figured he would at least give me Medium-Well.My steak was still refrigerator cold in the center. I sent it back to warm it. It came back the same way with some char to the outside. I sent it back. I did this 4 times total, and only the outside was getting more and more burned. I believe they hit it with a torch each time. My burned outer, cold raw inner steak was rarer than my husband's medium steak.I probably won't be going back.Even the customers at other tables were sending their under-cooked steaks back.However, the server was amazing, courteous, professional, and kind! She deserves a huge kudos!!
I hate to do this, but the food was subpar. We should have went to Golden corral, my medium demonic was cold on the inside. Wife asked for well done, I know, it's weird to me too, but anyways, wife asked for well done sirloin. The recorded it 4 times. And it's pink and the inside is cold.Waitress is amazing, atmosphere was still amazing. Just the cook gotta do some work

We visited on a Friday so not expecting immediate service However, there were only 3 tables in our section and the waitress was only hyper focused on one. Every time she brought one thing to their table then they asked for something else and off she'd go never checking on us. They asked for MORE bread and water and off she went never thinking about other tables. I didn't expect my food in 15 minutes but a glass of water or drink order would've been nice. After 15 minutes of no service, I went to the hostess station inquiring if we had a waitress. The lady who normally checks us out said she would see who our waitress was but after a few more minutes we left. We wasted 30 minutes between waiting for a table and waiting for a waitress who never appeared.
