The food was excellent and if you leave hungry, it’s your own fault! There is so much food on the plates you will have to get to go box. Our waiter was very friendly and never let us run out of drink. We will definitely be back!!

The food is good, you will enjoy all the different kinds of food, most of the time I've had to get a go box, could not eat it all, if you are close by come try it out I think you will enjoy it
If your going to the North Carolina State Zoo or traveling through and looking for a Great place to sit down to eat or to get a to go plate of food you can't go wrong here at American Roadhouse.
Stopped coming back from the Zoo. Got the special Chicken bites. Wife got the whiting fillet special. When they brought out the plates, knew we would need a big box to take home. WOW!! They give you plenty. And it was as good as it looked. Chicken was crispy. Wife loved her fish. Hushpuppies were sweet enough, but not overly sweet. I always judge a restaurant by their coleslaw and it was good. And the service was phenomenal!!!!! Wished I had taken pictures.

Very good lunches, hearty portions, and exceptional wait staff, they are very attentive. Lots of fried fish and Blue Plate specials make for an affordable lunch. It's definitely a local hangout and worth a visit.

Quick and friendly service. Sort of tired-looking and tired-feeling interior. The steaks were ok but nothing like a Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse. It's like a place that's knows that people will come and eat there whether or not the food is good, so therefore they stopped trying. Will find another steak place.

Call from parking lot and ask how the wait to be seated is and im told NO WAIT. Walk in less than 2 minutes later and handed a pager for 30 minutes. Furthermore the menu looks good online but a let down on premise.. its not so much the food. If I drove 20-30 minutes just to be lied to about the wait, I would have been really angry.

If you haven't been there, you'll find it to be fun, quirky, good food, and an interesting atmosphere if we ever go back, it's a long travel for us. We well go back! Oh also very affordable.
