Quaint little place in downtown Asheboro. From walking and feeling like family to mouth watering bbq and great daily specials, you should stop here!2 hot dogs fries and a drink special was worth it! I’m overly full and I can eat a heavy portion. Homemade slaw and bbq sauce lip smack in good. Bbq sauce is a sweet vinegar runny sauce but has a nice bite at the end.Stop in and enjoy a delicious, inexpensive home cooked meal!
Food was alright, nothing to write home about. Came here with high expectations of Carolina style BBQ, but it wasn't really much more than wet pork with BBQ sauce on top. Additionally, had to ask another diner what to do when we first arrived, no signs saying to seat yourself or anything, Staff saw us standing there and did not assist us. Fox News on every TV is a major turn off. The floor was somehow slick but sticky at the same time, an enigma for sure. I will say food...
The food was okay and quick service. The sauce for the BBQ was good. Will compare to Jed's BBQ later. We had the chicken pie of the day ( my S-I-L shared more like chicken and dumplings and light on seasoning). My grandson had the hotdog and cool french fries. I had the shredded pork plate. The best dish was the white cole slaw.It was an experience of stepping back in time to the diner experience of an earlier time.
