Skylight Inn BBQ is the very best in Eastern NC BBQ in my opinion. It is simple and delicious. Wood cooked to perfection whole hog pork . Slaw,cornbread,and of course the banana pudding are a must addition to the BBQ.

Excellent pork bbq! I got the tray with the pork, coleslaw and corn pone. The pork is fine chop and delicious. You can see the years of chopping by the bow in the center of the chopping block. The slaw is a bit sweeter than I am used to but it is outstanding. I definitely would like to have that plate of cue and slaw again right about now! Go early, the place gets really busy at noon!

I am quite the barbecue junkie, and for the first time in about 2 years, my top 5 barbecue joints changed. Skylight Inn is the best barbecue I've ever had. Period. I love the simplicity of the restaurant, and especially the fact that you can buy a gallon of sweet tea(excellent sweet tea, that is!). The cornbread is simply divine. Some people drench their barbecue in sauce, and at Skylight Inn, sauce is NOT required. I actually disliked the barbecue when I sauced it! If you like banana pudding, try theirs and be amazed! Skylight Inn has always been a Carolina barbecue legend, and I recommend eating here.
food was phenomenal employees were extremely helpful and polite. reminded me of back home, especially since ya cant get BBQ like this in the bigger city area, will ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY be comin back when in the area again and would recommend to anyone
