Skylight Inn BBQ is the very best in Eastern NC BBQ in my opinion. It is simple and delicious. Wood cooked to perfection whole hog pork . Slaw,cornbread,and of course the banana pudding are a must addition to the BBQ.
Best NC eastern-style BBQ. Chopped pork contains crackling that can be unexpected for first-timers. The crackling adds a touch of texture and flavor that compliments the moist chopped pork. Excellent pork bbq! I got the tray with the pork, coleslaw and corn pone. The pork is fine chop and delicious. You can see the years of chopping by the bow in the center of the chopping block.
The slaw is a bit sweeter than I am used to but it is outstanding. I definitely would like to have that plate of cue and slaw again right about now!
Go early, the place gets really busy at noon!
