Excellent setting, music & fire pits.
Definitely one of our favorite places! We always try our best to make time to visit GV anytime we're in the area! Amazing flights, service, live music, food trucks and ambiance. I love when I get there early enough to get a seat by the river! It's so peaceful and relaxing to sit by the rushing river with my wine flight! If I could give this place more than five stars, I would!!!

Very nice winery with great outdoor sitting area. We came with our dog and enjoyed music and a fire pit, along with the food truck that was there.
Grandfather Vineyard & Winery, nestled in the Appalachian High Country, spans over 10 acres of picturesque land. The vineyard is terraced to ensure optimal sun exposure, and the Watauga River runs through the property, creating a serene backdrop for guests. Following the devastation of Hurricane Helene, the winery has worked tirelessly to recover and restore its vineyard. Their resilience and dedication have seen the rejuvenation of their crops, rebuilding of their facilities, and an unwavering commitment to providing high-quality wines in a tranquil, welcoming atmosphere.

Stopped in to get some local wine; we did not do the full tasting. The wine I tasted was delicious, and they have a cozy sitting area outside. Would definitely come here again.
Awesome place! Outdoor seating only, but the surrounding area is beautiful. It was very relaxed and family friendly. Some people brought their own food and blankets. We did not but we enjoyed the snacks and cheese from the wine shop. Staff was helpful and friendly. The red wine flight was fantastic.

Came here on a snow day while in town and really enjoyed it. The kids built a snowman without any stares. The sweeter wines are definitely a must try.
