Stopped by Town Tavern in Banner Elk and tried the chili dog—absolutely delicious! The chili had just the right amount of spice, and it paired perfectly with the juicy hot dog for a classic comfort food experience. The tavern itself had a cozy, laid-back atmosphere that made it a great place to unwind. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming vibe. Whether you’re passing through or a local, Town Tavern is a solid spot to satisfy a comfort food craving.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere - went to watch football game. Food came out very quickly and it was all great. We had nachos, wings and burgers. Waitress was great about re-fills. BUT we were sitting by one of the overhead doors. A host came over and opened the door. It was quite chilly sitting there but the worse thing were the flies!!!! We had planned to stay and drink for the entire game but we had to leave at 1/2 time. We were cold and the flies were awful. You need to get screens for the openings especially with horses across the street! Also would not have been seated there if I knew they were going to open the doors! Otherwise a great place and nice addition to the area!

We frequent this restaurant often. The food is amazing and the service is awesome. This particular time, there was an issue with our food, but the manager, Jacob, was so understanding and made what could have been a bad experience, a great one. Our waitress was equally as awesome. I recommend the Town Tavern because of their good food and their wonderful attention to their customers!!

My wife and I stopped to have lunch there on our way home. We were greeted by the blonde hostess, Mensa member, with the nose ring. I would love to leave a review about the food, however, no one even took our drink order, but there were a couple of employees sweeping the floor all around us. It’s a shame they hadn’t bothered to wipe down the table at which we were seated. However; when we were seated nothing was said to us about what drink we would like or that someone would be with us soon. Just handed us menus and walked away without a word never to return. When I handed the menus back to this genius, after waiting 15 minutes to even be acknowledged, I told her and the other employees who were all standing around that we would just go somewhere else, they just stared at me, never apologizing or even offering to take our order. We plan to visit Banner Elk again soon, however, we will not be returning to your restaurant.
I have ate here at least 8 times, I've got something different everytime. Everytime, I have been disappointed. I have only finished one meal I had there and it was the bone-in wings hot. All the other things I've ate have been so tasteless. It's like eating mush truthfully. It's super bland. The service is ok but it takes forever to get anything and that's only if the waiters come back to your table after giving you your food. I just simply don't enjoy this restaurant but I did try to.

The atmosphere was amazing and our server, Perry, was even better. We got our food faster than we have anywhere else. The local beer samples were amazing and she was more than happy to get them for us. The food was outstanding and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to the area.
