I am from Delaware and was looking forward to some Carolina BBQ. Very dissapointed no sliced brisket. I asked if the brisket was pre sauced and one girl said no and another guy said yes 🤦🏻♂️both the pulled brisket and pulled pork was mushy. Should have left when I saw the girl bringing blocks of frozen bbq out of freezer. I don’t see how all these people left these great reviews of great food. 👎🏻

The pulled pork and brisket were indistinguishable other than by color. They were tasteless, had no smoke flavor, mushy, and no bark. It was an abomination to brisket. What a waste to serve brisket as tasteless mush. The hushpuppies were pretty good. The mac and cheese was bland. The fries were a frozen product. The ribs were decent. They were much better than the pulled pork and brisket. The sweet potato casserole was stringy and had too much clove.

Ordered roughly 8 lbs of ribs, pulled brisket, pulled pork, bbq chicken, and burnt ends for a big birthday party and it was ALL amazing! And still warm when we got it home. Currituck BBQ has fantastic to go options for large parties. Extremely fast service! Everyone loved it, and the sides! Worth the drive! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Classic southern BBQ joint in appearance. I got the pulled pork dinner with baked beans and Mac and cheese. The pork was not the pulled pork that I’m used to. It was more like pulverized pork. It had a descent flavor but certainly was not anything like Memphis, Texas, or Kansas City-style. Sorry, but my pork bbq is much better. The beans were okay, but the Mac and cheese wasn’t my thing. The East Carolina Bbq sauce (vinegar-based) was very good as were the hush puppies. The lady working the register was full of personality and pleasant.

My husband and I love Currituck BBQ and drive out from Norfolk Virginia just to get lunch there at least every other month. We love the pulled chicken and pulled brisket sandwiches. Our dog Maggie loves Currituck BBQ also! The giant covered picnic area is perfect for families with doggies!

As you can see it got our interest. It's a fairly nice place for off-the-road traffic to grab a quick bite and go. It's very large. Pavilion also say you can run around a little bit and be a kid

I am staying at a beach house in OBX and ventured down into mainland Currituck, this is more than just any other barbeque restaurant. THIS IS A BARBEQUE MASTERPEICE!!!! When I pull into the unlevel bumpy gravel parking lot, I make my way into the country style vintage welcoming ''grandma's house'' type of vibe place. My nose is met with the incredible aroma of that smoked barbeque. Leaving me dumbfounded, I knew I was about to experience something I would never forget. I ordered a mountain dew (fountain drink extra carbonated) large barbeque sandwich, fries, and a side of macaroni. Wait time is very long as I waited around 15 minutes with only around 5-8 other customers in the restaurant. BUT BOY WAS IT WORTH IT!!!! The man with care and a smile on his face sat my meal at the pickup area and shouted ''NUMBER 48'' I knew it, this was my number, I instantly grabbed my box of food (they use to-go boxes) and brought it to my clean wiped down table. With care I opened up my box. locked my eyes on that big, juicy, smoky barbeque sandwich. I was practically lusting over that barbeque sandwich for a couple moments. I then took a sip of my extra carbonated not to cold, not to warm mountain dew to prepare for this incredible meal. I then took a bite of that big, juicy, smoky, warm barbeque sandwich, I began savoring all the flavors and that distinct smoky flavor in my mouth, it was like an explosion of flavors inside of my mouth. I didn't even know what to do or how to fathom what I was experiencing. I began to feel helpless! Couldn't speak, couldn't move, and my mind was fully occupied with just the barbeque sandwich and chewing on it. I couldn't describe the feeling, but upon swallowing I reentered reality. It was like all my bills, all my debt, all my worries, all my issues in general were just gone! It was like I was in some sort of parallel universe with no problems, no worries. I experienced something many never experience, I experienced something one may not be able to describe or even fathom. I experienced true joy. I took a sip of that incredible thirst quenching mountain dew between each bite of my barbeque sandwich. And each bite I got this same sensation, it's almost like a minor state of paralysis, but it a good way. As I finished my barbeque sandwich I began chowing down on those crispy, fried, delicious, mouth watering, Currituck Barbeque fries. AND GOSH!!!! did I not regret ordering those, not too crunchy, not to soft in the middle, and not too large. JUST PERFECT!!!! and right when you think this magical experience can't get any better, you think it's just downhill from here. You notice the mac and cheese staring at you that you forgot about. And you can almost here it saying ''I'm still here'' and as the smell of that creamy cheese filtered through my nasal hairs I began devouring it at the same time I was working on the fries. Upon finishing the meal I grabbed a refill of mountain dew as they allow FREE REFILLS!!!! I happily in a joyful mood brought my large FREE REFILLED Styrofoam cup of mountain dew to my truck, and in a blissful mood drove back to my beach house. This meal erected a plethora of ''feel good chemicals'' and had me in a frenzy of good moods for days after. Experience true joy at Currituck Barbeque. The picture below is my to-go order.
