Always great. Local favorite. Seafood is better than steaks. Get a reservation during boating season

I went with my parents and we had a great brunch. The food and service were both great. It didn’t really seem to be much of an art gallery though. It was more of an eclectic space with some art on the walls.

This place is worth a drive (or boat) to eat here. Wonderful food in a cozy, artful setting. Be warned, they give you plenty of food. I had the pate appetizer and this could easily have been shared. The fish special (cobia) was definitely worth getting.

We planned our day trip from Virginia around the hours the restaurant would be open - and the experience was amazing! Even though they were really busy, the service was on point. We were greeted immediately and a couple of folks checked on us once seated. The food and drinks were outstanding. Everyone was friendly, and this was one of the best dining experiences we've had in awhile.

We were drawn to this lovely restaurant by the artistry shown online. We live in Dare County and made a daytrip on a beautiful Saturday morning in February to Belhaven. We made brunch reservations and arrived early. Although busy we were graciously seated by one of the owners, Mark. We were mesmerized by the amazing artwork displayed floor to ceiling. Gorgeous! Sam, was our delightful and sunny waitress. She presented the specials and menu with finesse and our service was impressive. The menu, itself, was a piece of art with a beautiful cover page. We struggled with indecision as every item sounded amazing. We chose an appetizer of local oysters, shucked the night before..fried to perfection, golden, light, and crisp atop a roumalaude that was delicious. Our entrees were the shrimp and grits with andouille sausage, and the fresh fried fish and chips. Omgoodness! Needless to say, we shared! Carrot cake, made fresh in house, was scrumptious and a huge serving was split between us. It was drizzled with caramel and served with fresh cream and a generous scoop of ice cream. Teresa(owner) graciously told us the story of how the restaurant came to be and gave us a guided tour of the site after our dinner. She gifted us dessert and offered a gift of a lovely bottle of wine. We are in love and already planning our next visit! Absolutely divine!!!!Milton Eaton and Wendi Willoughby

We’re big foodies, and Spoon River is hands down one of our very favorite restaurants!! Everything on the menu is divine, but I’d suggest ordering the specials. We adore Tamika, and her recommendations are always perfect! We’ll be planning a trip back to Belhaven soon just to visit Spoon River and over eat!

This was the most amazing lunch I’ve ever had. I highly recommend shrimp and grits. The service was perfect. I’m so grateful to have such a nice restaurant in our area. I could marry the chef.
