This was my first time here and I just happened to stop by during my road trip and it was such a pleasant experience! Shea was so patient with me and helped to show me everything I could choose from, was very polite and kind to every other customer I witnessed and had great eye contact which shows his interest in the customer and their positive experience. I ordered an Asiago bagel with egg, cheese and pork roll and it was delicious. Everything was so fresh and perfectly prepared by the kitchen staff and they got my order made very quickly. This place really does serve a piece of New York but with less attitude and more kindness!

Not like it used to be. The new owners have changed everything. The cream cheese taste old and rotten. The bagels are just ok. I’ve tried them a few times after the ownership changed and I’ve been unimpressed each time.

Menu on wall is unreadable I ordered then I stood in front of the register to pay the lady standing at register says oh this guy will take care of you made me move aside and took someone else’s order and then rang them up on register while I waited. 1star trash don’t ever do that again lady

Bringing up north bagels to the deep south. When you grow up in one area you get use to the cuisine of that area and you miss it when you move to another. New York Bagels gives that taste of up north to us in JoCo North Carolina. The bagels are made fresh and you can dress them up anyway you want. The variety of bagels is there too. Great bagels made fresh. When it gets busy I feel like they are a bit overwhelmed. What can they do...they are the only up north bagel place for miles! I am anxious to see what the new owners do for decor. The walls are pretty plain now...its bagels and a booth. They also do Pepsi fountain...I'm a Coke guy. You can get a can of Coke though.

I stopped by after lunch when I was in the area the people inside we’re good genuine people the bagel sandwiches that were made. Fresh were amazing. I will definitely come back and do it again. It is worth the detour off the highway if your passing through like myself

As for this review I speak only of the bagels. I haven’t tried their other menu options. I’ve been frequenting this bagel shop about once a week for quite some time now just as I did when it was Big Steve’s. I miss Big Steve’s but I need my bagel fix so I settle for this. Every single time I go I order a salt bagel with plain cream cheese not toasted and every single time it’s been different. A burnt bagel, barely any cream cheese, toasted when specifically asked not to be, too much salt, not enough salt, etc. Is it still better than a Thomas bagel from the grocery store? Yes of course, but the inconsistency is terrible. The customer service is not good. You either get the short tempered older woman or the very slow teenagers. Now I know Big Steve’s staff had a certain energy to them but they were organized, on top of their orders and taking orders, accurate and you knew you were gonna get a damn good bagel every single time and knew what to expect, even on the busiest of Saturday mornings
