I had high expectations for this place. I can only give it a 3 or 4/5. The atmosphere was amazing, however the food and service were pretty average. We started off with a salad that was good, then focaccia was good but wish it was warmed up. The mussels were AMAZING, definitely our favorite dish. We also ordered the shrimp gnocchi and octopus, but I was upset to hear that the octopus had run out. So instead we ordered the conservas. I would not recommend it, It included bread, a few grapes, beans, cold raw octopus, and cut up cucumbers.

Such a good experience! We were visiting Blowing Rock for the weekend, and I was nervous about limited vegan options! Thankfully we came across Cafe Violette and called ahead to make a last minute reservation. Our server Ellen was incredible and very knowledgeable when it came to which dishes could be made vegan. Everything was amazing and I always love a farm to table, local restaurant! Will definitely be back next time we are in town!

We were super excited to dine at Cafe Violette! The service was underwhelming. We often had to call someone over and were never asked how the food was. For fine dining, I anticipated someone engaged in if we were enjoying the food and drinks. The escargot could have used more garlic and salt, although the snails themselves were high quality. The cocktails tasted a little too chemical. The steak came out cold. The duck was good, however. Overall compared to Gamekeeper nearby, we were underwhelmed with the service and food.
Edit: the manager reached out very quickly to set things right and I sincerely appreciate that! It shines very positively on the restaurant.

Delicious fish, excellent wine list, and great service. Our table was located upstairs and away from the bar but still pretty loud, since we felt too close to other guests. For the price point, we should have had a bit more privacy, but the food was so good that it made up for it

My wife and I were celebrating a weekend alone without the kiddos. Our waitress was able to give us recommendations to participate in outside of blowing rock. We stuck to appetizers which were outstanding along with the drinks. Such a cozy atmosphere and executional service. Would highly recommend
