I would strongly recommend Cafe Violette for an upscale dinner in Blowing Rock. We found the food, service and atmosphere to all be excellent and definitely worth the prices. The autumn salad and vegetarian entree (the cacio e pepe) were both fantastic and likely the best vegetarian food you can get in Blowing Rock. We will definitely be back!

I had been here before a few years ago, and I made sure I didn't miss an opportunity to eat there again on my recent visit. We split the mussels and frites, a salad, and a dessert, and everything was fabulous! I highly recommend. I can't wait to come back to Blowing Rock to eat here again!! Wish I could post pictures.

Terrible. The food use to be really good. The mussels taste like onions, the octopus tastes burnt, the chicken is tough, the soup(potato) is sweet.

Celebrated an anniversary and successful surgery recovery here with a dinner (me, my husband and my mother). Everything we had was amazing - we all ordered something different for entrees and tried each other's meals. Kebab appetizer was perfectly spiced. Chicken meuniere was one of the best chicken meals I have ever had. The cacio and pepe and hands down stellar - the best cacio and pepe I have had (though I haven't had many, but I will be changing that going forward). The scallop special was also phenomenal.

Our server Sophia was awesome - attentive but not hovering.

We will absolutely return next time we are in the area!

My wife and I had dinner on a busy Saturday. We had a wonderful meal and the restaurant was quiet not too many tables, great setting. The food was delicious one of the best meals I've had in Blowing Rock we will definitely be back. The servers and hosts were also great.

We got last minute reservations are we glad we did! This is our new favorite place in blowing Rock. It's a little pricey but you're never going to doubt whether you got your money's worth. The food is delectable! For us, big standouts were the hummus appetizer and the cherry chocolate cremeau.

Great experience for an anniversary dinner. The waiter was very helpful but not pushy at all. The drinks and food were very good while being unique but still homey. The atmosphere was intimate, but still laid back. Will definitely return when back in Blowing Rock.

Charming and delicious! I ate here twice during a recent visit to Blowing Rock. The food was delicious, with a great variety of wines by the glass, which they helped me pair. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff is excellent - kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Owner Sunshine is an absolute delight, and I am excited for this to be a go-to spot on future visits!

We have visited regularly for years, and every visit has been carefully prepared, thoughtfully plated and just darn good. We enjoy the staff and how they treat us and it’s a great evening when we dine at Cafe Violette.

So,so dinner. Food good but overpriced. Service started off great but she had too many tables as the evening progressed and we barely saw her after that. Desserts were delicious I won’t go back again. Too expensive for what we experienced.

Food was good, service was terrible. We had escargot, heirloom tomato salad, crawfish & potato bisque. For dessert it was ice with warm espresso as a topping. All were excellent. The poor service almost ruined it all. Our server left us unattended several times and was low-energy all throughout. For a restaurant of this level, there is an expectation of professional service.

Oh, so that's how you want to play it? Your “fine dining” establishment should consider the dress code for your servers. Ours looked like she just got out of bed. And you really should let your customers decide how long they want to spend over a meal. You must have mistaken someone standing at our table for getting up to use the restroom. Waving at our server became necessary just to get her attention. Out of the gate we asked the server for a minute so we could look at the wine list. Fifteen minutes later we were still waiting. Perhaps the problem is your hiring standards and training for a server are severely lacking.

It's a scam. My husband ordered me a cheese plate, and asked what type of cheese they put to avoid unpasteurized cheese due to pregnancy. First of all they charged him $12 for 2 piece of cheese, put 6 of them and it cost $36. And all of the cheese was unpasteurized.

On top of that I enjoyed eating the soup with the fork, as they never put a spoon in the bag.

Avoid this place.

Really great food and really great service. Vibe was inviting and everyone we came across was extremely friendly. Our favorite was probably the chicken. It was perfectly cooked and all the sides were amazing. Location is easy to get to even when parking further away. Will definitely be back. Great meal!

We hosted a private dinner here for my Mother's 70th birthday. We were all beyond impressed by the quality of the service and food. The restaurant staff were fantastic to work with, communicated clearly and promptly, and put together a fantastic menu for the dinner with all of our guests' dietary restrictions taken into consideration. They truly made our evening a very special event. Each dish was delicious, but we especially loved the mussels, halibut, and filet mignon. I can't thank this team enough for providing such a wonderful experience to celebrate my Mom.
