The acoustics in this dining room are AWFUL. The food was mediocre at best and the service is terrible. There are many better restaurants in Blowing Rock so don't waste your time on this place.
My wife was impressed with the preparation of her beef filet. It was tasty and tender. My salmon was equally good. Service was attentive and professional. The only negative was that the seating arrangement was such that a boisterous group of 10 diners distracted from the dining experience.
Our server Justin was phenomenal! Attentive, professional and knowledgeable. Outside dining is the way to go. Much too noisy inside. We will be back. He mentioned the brunch and we asked if eggs Benedict was on the menu- surprisingly no. Suggest adding it.
This was the first time we dined at the Restaurant at the Embers. We thought the space was very pretty. The food was excellent! We had trout dip for appetizer and halibut for entree. Both were very good. I wish I could remember our servers name but he was very attentive, witty and kind. We will go back.
We arrived early to the half empty restaurant and were told we couldn't be seated earlier. That was fine. We sat at the bar. The room didn't fill up and when our reservation time arrived we were told that we had to go back to the bar and be patient. We waited another 15 minutes, watching the many empty tables and approached the hostess station again where the woman in charge said, “Oh! I was about to go looking for you” when we had already spoken with her twice and was within her view. The room still wasn't busy. All this is to say that being made to feel welcome upon arrival may have colored our opinion differently.
We have dined here several times. Gourmet food at moderate prices. Beautiful restaurant, “mountain modern” style. Always great service. If I had any criticism at all, it would be that the menu offers a fairly limited selection of entrees
With a beautiful interior space, a very talented chef with a changing menu featuring local ingredients and a nice wine list it is a nice addition to the dining scene in Blowing Rock.
The food was very delicious. The service was a little slow and the noise level was very loud. They gave nothing to absorb any sounds. Even when the bartender threw a bottle in the bin it was heard throughout the restaurant. Need to put some sound absorbing panels in please.
Beautiful restaurant with very convenient parking which is a big plus. The breakfast was meh. Not bad but not good. The service was very pleasant. We only tried breakfast so I can not speak to their other meals.
I love the vibe of the bar but the service is always questionable. They always seem to be under staffed and the staff they have is not very experienced. The noise level is off the charts in the restaurant- you can barely have a conversation ?

This was our sixth visit. Food, service, atmosphere always top notch, and parking at the door is a plus. Management says they're working to reduce the noise level. It was not crowded on a rainy Monday night so was not noisy:
We absolutely loved our time at the Embers! We had Bella as our waitress and she is so adorable and attentive. The restaurant is gorgeous with a large hearth, lots of windows, and a fabulous bar! Both of our drinks and meals were perfect. We will be back! Actually went again today on the way home.
We have had Sunday brunch here twice and WOW! The food, ambience and service are amazing! Standouts are black eyed pea hummus, Caesar salad with trout, and salmon BLT! They have some amazing looking specialty mimosas. Looking forward to trying them! Run don't walk. You will love it!
My wife had a plain biscuit and I had the biscuits and gravy breakfasts. The biscuits were dry and overbaked. Gravy was very mildly flavored. I had to ask for a coffee refill. When refilled, my wife's cup was ignored. The hostess was charming and delightful, however, was somehow unaware of the hooks that were provided on the table stands for hanging purses/bags/hats. The first impression did not induce a desire to return.
Service was extremely good and for much of the evening it was quite energetic in the bar. Food and drink were high quality and we all enjoyed ourselves. Having a drink outside before the meal was great as the weather was perfect.
