We had a very nice lunch. The smash burger my wife had was excellent. My salad with fried chicken was also very good. The star of the menu, however, was the ribs!
The new combination of Bistro Roca staff w/ Hellbender is off the charts! Everything was excellent, the staff and I mean everyone, was on point and super friendly and cheerful. The food was excellent and is a great value - we were there for the special Valentines weekend, and look forward to seeing how the menu evolves this year. But the atmosphere the combined staff is creating literally out of the ashes of Bistro Roca was noticeable and we look forward to coming back soon!
Went for lunch with 4 adults and 3 kids under the age of 3 and had an excellent experience. Our server was attentive, the food was yummy, and we all felt very welcome. I had the loaded potato soup and coke bbq wings. My husband had the smash burger and house chips and my 2 year old had the Mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. All was delicious! The space is big too and accommodating for little people who may need to walk around.
Wait staff was spread too thin. Took a long time (15 minutes) for server to come to table. Out of several entres (not many to begin with). Have been before and didn't experience these issues so will definitely try them again.
This is a smaller restaurant so it is easy to talk and yet it had very good meals. Each meal that was ordered had been well thought out by the restaurant and had great foodie details. The restaurant is not formal but nice and a good setting for a date or just a small family meal. The setting is an older home so expect a small setting and you should make reservations.
It was good and we enjoyed it. The food was pretty average and the portions fairly small for the prices. It was a good fit for our big family
The duck confit sandwich is a standout - one of the most sublime mixtures I've had, and so unexpected! Wonderful staff, and a very pleasant place overall
We took our three grandsons (age range 12-5). We all ordered the smash burger which was delicious. Great that they have GF buns for those that want/need them. Server was excellent - very polite, nice, helpful and offered great service. All of the staff we came in contact with were great as well.
We have enjoyed Hellbender in the past but this experience was only fair. The wait staff was friendly but rushed things and the food was only mediocre. The bright spot was the host who was very accommodating!
One of the worst experiences at a restaurant in recent memory. We had a reservation at 5:30pm. When we sat down we ordered drinks and six buffalo wings as an appetizer. Two of the wings were so small my sons asked if they used baby chickens. The hot buffalo wings were delivered and our server left. We had no silverware or napkins for a messy appetizer. One of my sons went to the bathroom to wash his hands it took so long to get anyone’s attention to get napkins (and the restaurant was half full). We finally got napkins 15 minutes later after I asked twice. Then we were going to order our entrees. There were literally 5 entrees on the entire menu outside of sandwiches. My sons picked the restaurant because they wanted Ramen and Ribs which were recommended. Shockingly they had neither at 5:30pm!!!!! They then order the NC Trout and Shrimp and Grits and I had the smash burger. The trout was supposed to have lentils and quinoa. It had a few sprinkles of each (basically nothing) and then it was fish over a bed or arugula. Our waiter came to our table once to finally refill our drinks. We then finished and they were craving banana pudding which was also highly recommended online. As we ordered our waiter said embarrassingly, they were out of that as well. I then immediately asked for the check, paid and left. I will never go here again and recommend everyone stay away unless you are getting drinks. A restaurant that has no food at 5:30pm on a Saturday should not be in business.

Great burger and beer mac and cheese!
We stopped in for breakfast yesterday...11/4/2025. The ambience was nice but the breakfast was sub-par and over priced. The hash browns were frozen rectangles and the biscuits as well as the bacon was were overcooked and hard. Once we sat down no one came back around to check on us. I wouldn't recommend this place for breakfast.
The service was excellent. Three of us chopped chicken salad which was delicious. My husband wasn't crazy about the pho but said it was ok. Will definetly go back.
Loved the menu the grain salad was awesome. Kids loved the Mac and cheese. Service was excellent, our waitress was very sweet.
Smash burgers A++!!
