The ice cream is good, but the "homemade" (it really appears to be made there) fudge is the worst I've ever had. Dowb the road at Tweetsie is some of the best I've ever had (and I'm a local unaffiliated with either)

Use to go here as a kid with my Dad when we went to Blowing Rock Stables to ride horses. Great memories as a kid ? Now I take my kids here so they can experience a little piece of my childhood. Staff is super sweet! It's like you stepped back in time when things were less hectic. Will always be one of my favorite places to visit when I come to BR! I hope the staff and their families are okay after Hurricane Hellene. Prayers going out to everyone in western NC. ??

Stopping by Kilwin’s is a must when you’re having a touristy day in Blowing Rock. It stays busy so be prepared to wait, but the line moves fairly quickly. The ice cream is delicious and they have so many flavor options.

Kid-friendliness: What kid doesn’t enjoy ice cream?

Turtle cheese cake ice cream has likely past its due date;
The other lacked the chocolate chips and caramel bits it is supposed to contain.
Disappointing.
Will likely not go back there.

Their ice cream is great, and the staff is friendly, but the portions are small for the price. It cost $16 and some change for one scoop a piece of ice cream in a tiny bowl.

I was in a group of 3 doing piano deliveries the first one ordered and said to us I will meet you back at the truck the second person ordered then the person taking the orders walked away like I wasn't even there the other 2 guys got the orders and went to the truck and I still had no one take my order when I finally got my order placed and received it returned to the truck I am hearing ABOUT TIME...WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?
That is the reason I only rated 4 stars because the service was not good that day.
This was 3 years ago and the one who took the orders probably doesn't work there anymore he was a young guy probably a college student who has moved on in his life

So wonderful to be back on The Blue Ridge. We are reminded in Blowing Rock why we love Kilwin's so much. Super friendly staff, generous portions and great ice cream. Highly recommended.

It's always fun after the 4th of July parade, but the service is very friendly but always very slow.

We’re from Michigan so we grew up on Kilwin’s. When we walked in, It seemed all of the tourists of Blowing Rock were inside waiting in line on this hot Summer evening. I mean….its the best and this weather calls for this refreshing treat!

I had the Traverse City Cherry. It was perfect! We also usually get fudge, it’s a must! The Mackinac Island is also really delicious! Check out the many other sweets.

Stop by & enjoy ?
