Best kilwins, best location, blowing rock us the quaintest town in North Carolina
A place that refuses to accommodate for a little boy with ASD on his birthday is not a place I will give my business. There are other locally owned places around that will!
Yummy, just...yummy.
You'll know you're near when you start smelling the chocolate and fudge! Variety of options to choose from. The treats were very good, my only complaint is the prices. I got the smallest cup available for ice cream and it was almost $8. My husband purchased some fudge & 3 chocolate covered pretzels-That was $20.
I will never support this business knowing that they don’t support and make simple accommodations for a child with autism. They should be ashamed to have an employee of such there. I hope that individual never experiences the selfishness and cruelty he showed this family. Pathetic!
Disgraceful actions by management there
Delicious ice cream and homemade cones. They even ask you which flavor to put into the cone first.
We’ve visited Kilwins on Main almost every single time we’ve gone downtown Blowing Rock with our family of five. As a local who grew up going there, it’s been such a sweet tradition to share with my own kids.
But on some of our families visit, during my nephew’s 6th birthday, he was denied something as simple as a cup of whipped cream so he could join in while the rest of the family enjoyed ice cream. He’s on the spectrum and has food sensitivities, and this small gesture would have allowed him to feel included…something they’ve done for him before.
To be told “no” simply because it wasn’t on the menu felt incredibly disappointing. Inclusion and kindness should be the bare minimum, and yet here we were, watching a child be excluded over something so simple.
Sadly, after decades of being loyal customers, our family will no longer be supporting Kilwins.
This business should be ASHAMED of themselves. Watching a family of virture being denied a cup of whip cream and sprinkles for a child with autism is the most disgusting thing I've heard of. You are an ice cream establishment , the fact that they ever paid regular price for that order was terrible in itself but denying the treat all together because it isn't a menu item? Down right despicable. Do better smh
Fantastic. $10 for a cone cup with a gigantic scoop

Ice cream is so yummy but why does a small cone cost $8.81 thats absolutely insane, Idk how any big family could afford it!?

Always busy it seems and fits downtown Blowing Rock and Main Street.
Kilwin's has a plethora of sweet treats ranging from fudge, popcorn, chocolates, to ice cream. Exhaustive flavors for fudge and ice cream. Surely you can find something to appease your sweet tooth.
Their waffle cones/bowls are excellent and the chocolate tipped waffle cone really sticks out to me as the star. I've always done a scoop of the Marshmallow Smores as my ice cream with the cone and this is an excellent concoction. This prices here are way too high however.
A great option in Blowing Rock for sweetness.
I loved eating ice cream here! I got a chocolate milkshake with wipped cream and a cherry on top! Would recommend trying it out!
We just happen to get the only person in the place who didn’t want to be there! We ask for a sundae in a waffle bowl and it was made in a cup. We told her that we ask for a waffle bowl and she said sorry and walked to the cash register and rang us up.She never bothered to fix it. Our ice cream was still very good we just didn’t get what we ask for !
Very expensive. And they barely post their prices, likely on purpose. Just a small paper on the side wall right when you get up to order. Single scoop in cup was over $7, and it was really just average quality. I should have known to beware of a place that hides their pricing.
