We were up in the mountains on a misty day, and needed lunch as we headed back to Charlotte. A lot of places were busy, even for late lunch, but we were intrigued and then glad we stopped. I had the Farmer’s lunch with a delicious buffalo chicken soup, cheddar cheese, fresh green salad, and bread. The kids liked their chicken, but also stealing my cheese and bread. My husband had a tasty Reuben, and we both had a beer. Loved the atmosphere and would come back. Nice service and clean bathroom.

Jeff served us at the bar top. He was easy to talk to and poured a great drink. We had the fish and chips- YUM! We had irish coffees and were just as cozy and happy as could be. Do yourself the favor and go have a delicious bite and a drink with Jeff!

Quiet afternoon had the place to myself. Good music from my era. I had the French onion soup excellent flavor and nice toppings of cheese and croutons. I skipped dinner and went for the bread pudding warm with a a drizzle of custard it was big enough to share I ended taking half home

We were excited about eating here. I was disappointed that we had to wait an hour due to the hostess sitting the family of four at a six seat table when there were two tables available with four seats. After the wait the food was highly disappointing. I would recommend updating your menu pricing online as well. If your in town I would recommend finding somewhere else to try.

We arrived Christmas eve and was looking for a place to eat.
We saw this place while walking and looked like a place we would enjoy.
We sat down and looked over the menu.
One thing that I laugh at is when a restaurant charges like an award winning chef works in the kitchen.
No matter where you're located , if you charge outrageous prices , you better be good , especially when you can drive q5 minutes down the road to Boone and get better food at a better price.
My wife's Shepard Pie was burnt and unable to finish . She at 3 bites and pushed aside.
My fish and chips , fish was chewy , that's a red flag.
My son's sandwich had such small amount of meat on it that it was laughable. You get more meat in a kids Lunchable.
The only good thing was my daughter's burger.
So $190 later, we left still hungry and upset .
Went to grocery store and bought frozen pizza and chilled by the fire place eating Red Barron pizza....best time , good food , family time in our vacation home.
My encouragement is...Do better , be better for those prices and that atmosphere

I went for the French onion soup.. it was horrible. I love French onion soup and have had it countless times; it is supposed to be a rich shade of brown, and the onions are soft and well cooked. The soup here is light tan water and the onions are firm and white. It’s onion water.
There are no kids options, so my son had a $14 grilled cheese.
It was extremely disappointing.

I used tend bar here in the early 2000s, I had the fondest memories of the people, the amazing food and atmosphere that brought me back to my childhood in England. After a 15 year hiatus I was so pleased to return to the friendly staff, the fish n chips were just as delicious as i
had remembered it to be and the scotch eggs were still amazing!! So happy to support this wonderful family owned business!!
