My fiancé and I stopped at Harbor Inn Seafood Restaurant in Burlington, NC for the first time, and unfortunately, we left disappointed. We ordered the large fried oyster dinner with coleslaw, hush puppies, and french fries. My fiancé started with a sweet tea, but it tasted borderline rancid, so we sent it back and swapped it for a Mountain Dew, which was fine. Our food came out fairly quickly, but from that point on, things went downhill. The french fries were undercooked, the oysters were greasy and overcooked, and while the hush puppies were decent, the meal overall missed the mark.

On the positive side, our waitress was excellent, attentive, friendly, and the highlight of the visit. The building itself feels very dated, like stepping back into the 1980s, but it was clean and tidy. Sadly, the food quality just didn’t match our expectations, and we’re not sure we’ll return.

Has always been the best seafood restaurant around. Wait staff always friendly, food always good, and affordable. Especially for the large portions! Has always been a highlight of Burlington. Hope they stay around for many more years.
