Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries

Food was good the waitress never checked on us

The food was horrible. I threw almost all of it away, and about threw what little I did eat up. It was inedible.

My coworker went to Highway 55 for dinner and got a hamburger steak w/fries and slaw and the picture below shows it all. It was crumpled up hamburger with no.gravy and the toast was not toasted. No place for the photo.

This was our second time here. Previous visit was better. Ordered hot dog with chili and slaw. Barely any chili on hot dog. Wanted to have additional chili but waitress never checked on us after bringing food once. We did not receive refills and ended going up to counter to get check. Not a big deal, but Sunday special was 1.00 off. We had to go to counter to receive as was not deducted from bill. Waitress had plenty of chat time with staff but never attended to customers. No way we were leaving recommended 30 percent tip.

How does this place exist.

This retro style 50's reaustrant serves up good ole fashion food with a smiling server. She checked up on me to see if I was ok, and if she was busy someone else checked up on me. I usually get the same thing and is what I expected it to be. That is what I go there for. Thank you Hwy 55.

This location is usually good. However my family and I went here last week. Service was horrible. The blonde girl was too busy flirting with the cooks to pay attention to customers coming in. Our server got our order wrong. I ordered a burger with cheese, grilled onions, ketchup, mustard, pickles and bacon. It came out with raw onions, no bacon. My son doesn’t like cheese so I ordered him a hamburger and specified no cheese. It came out with cheese on it. The food took so long to come we didn’t even bother telling them to fix it.
We’re done with Hwy 55 for a while.

Walked to the door at 7:54... all chairs were on tables. They were cleaning to close...at 9! An hour and 56 minutes away. When we opened the door as we turned to leave the wait staff laughed and were happy to see us go.

This is a great place to go for a quick bite to eat or desert. It is priced very well for the portion sizes. I had the steak and cheese and it was big with plenty of meat. It was served hot, however I couldn’t give five stars due to the fries being a little cold. Still, I’m sure I will be back one day.

Always a fresh and tasty burger. My "go to" restaurant when I am craving the best burger anywhere.

6:30 on a Saturday night and they have already shut down the machine to make orange aide. They shut it down early so they can leave. Not sure why it is even on the menu if you can’t get it. Not been able to get it on the last few trips here. Edit: asked for refill on tea and was told they were out for the night. Commented on them being out of a lot of stuff and I guess she mentioned it to the manager. Maners comment “I don’t care, I am not making tea at 7:20”. Probably last time for us! By 7:39 they had the chairs turned upside down and when someone came in they just ignored them to they left.

The food was good and fresh. The fries were fixed just right, crispy but not over done. The staff was very friendly.

I like the vibe that the place sits off. Young kids working in there, like a lot of places nowadays. Right off the start, I thought the service wasn't going to be great because of the young kids working there. I was correct. It was like 10 minutes before the girl took our order. I made contact several times with other employees before she came over. The place wasn't crowded either. We had to ask for soda refills both times. The food was good, cheeseburger, fries,hot dogs, grilled cheese, and chicken tenders. But again, I'll say kids need to be taught how to wait on customers. The only negative thing I'll say about the visit. Good luck next time maybe.
