Not a bad place just not quite what expected.
Took some pics. Outside area seating ok but on the street noisy side. We opted for indoors. Just did not feel the 🤩 factor that I was expecting but will not mark off our list altogether.

Disclaimer: Service seemed to be run by some, what I believe to be, high schoolers out for the summer so do cut them some slack if you're there.

Other than that everything was wonderful. Seated quickly, waited on immediately, and food came out in a timely manner even though we could see they were very busy. No real complaints other than some nit picks.

Funny story: I eat a lot of vegetarian meals and so I was interested in their vegetarian Garden Burger and wanted to inquire about what the 'burger' consisted of, Impossible!, mushroom, etc.
The host said it was all beef. Interesting. Upon asking the server, she responded the same with the addition of their Black Bean burger which is a separate item. Upon explaining and showing the burger to her on the menu, she asked the cooks, and they replied it was a mushroom burger. Thought that was entertaining.

Hands down the best food in town. Everything you get is delicious. My favorite is the tuna melt.

Option to dine inside or on the patio which rests on the beautiful town square.

Closes at 2pm after lunch.

Really enjoyed a couple of lunches at the Garden Deli while recently visiting Burnsville.

Great atmosphere with ample dining both inside and the well shaded outdoor area.

In particular the ham and cheese on rye stood out. Never seen as much ham or cheese on a sandwich. The tuna and turkey sandwiches also earned praise.

Staff were attentive and efficient. If in Burnsville give the Garden Deli a try. You’ll be glad you did.

We go here all the time and love the food, service, and environment. The patio is so cozy and the staff is always friendly.

The menu is the best. We love the lobster bisque. The seat are very spacious and you don’t feel crowded. The atmosphere is cozy.

The prices are reasonable and we always come here when we’re in Burnsville. We can’t wait to go back. HIGHLY Recommend!

Love the restaurant food is always spectacular being handicap it's the first restaurant in NC that I can think of that had handicap rails in the bathroom

Server was nice but didn't pay attention to food delivered and not easily accepting the order being wrong.
I ordered the Pastrami Reuben listed on the menu. Wasn't too hungry, (thinking I would eat only 1/2 of the sand) so I asked for a 'to-go' box when sandwich & husband's soup was delivered. I have had a Reuben here before, it was good & served with a lot of meat (Pastrami, as menu shows) and kraut.
This order came with Luke warm soup for Husband and ROAST BEEF(!) for my Pastrami!! Not being into roast beef and kraut, we called server over. She had to argue that the sand WAS a reuben. I explained that a Reuben is with Pastrami or corned beed, the menu describes the Reuben with Pastrami. I told her that I wasn't mad at all, just not that hungry, and was fine w/no lunch. She made a big issue out of my not eating, which was getting embarrassing. I, after telling her 4 (FOUR) times that I wasn't really hungry, began to become stern as she was telling me I had to eat... (I know she was just concerned, but...) Best if she just listens to guest's request. She finally took item off menu. **She didn't think to ask about the soup or if my husband was happy w/his order (of luke warm soup).
So, my concern - this Reuben and not hot soup made it past the cook who read the ticket & then made and plated the food, it made it past the server who took & served the order... Even if we were hungry, we would not have re-ordered... - Understandable, right? As who knows what we would have been served on this day! :)
Just asking for kitchen and wait staff to pay attention - (rst bf and kraut - kind of gross)!!
Bad day at the Garden.
