Ordered Especial El Rio & 90% of the steak was nothing but fat. I couldn’t even eat the majority of it. The waitress was not attentive either so it didn’t matter even if I wanted something else. Left the restaurant still hungry and $56 broker. This place used to be really good.

Loved the bright colors everywhere. Staff was very friendly and food was fresh and hot. Ordered the trio quesadillas and Texas quesadilla. Both were great and we went home with seconds!

My husband and I stopped in for drinks and chips w/ queso after our hike this weekend! We often visit their mars hill location and wanted to check this one out! We will be back to try more of their food. The chips were crisp and fresh. Their salsa is flavorful not spicy at all but they offer hot sauces at your table so you can spice it up to your liking which my husband appreciates because I like mine WAY spicier Service was quick and friendly and accommodating We enjoyed the decorations and the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was very clean as well! Large parking area too!

The service is good but the food quality can be questionable. The prices are still decent though which has kept me coming back but after last night I don’t know if I’ll be able to eat here again. I got a burrito to go and as soon as I took a bite I knew something was wrong, I took another and had to spit it out and rinse my mouth because it tasted like chemical cleaner. Like someone dunked my food in purple fabuloso. It was horrid. I got it to go so I didn’t want to drive all the way back to town for a refund. Everyone else’s food didn’t taste weird but yeah…not good.

Food was great and service acceptable. The front door kept getting stuck open so it would get chilly.

Food was ok. Hot and tasty. However, it took a long time to be prepared and the restaurant was not busy at all. My server started off attentive, then after bringing the food that took forever to the table he never came back. We waited and never saw him nor another server. Had to go up and ask the cashier (she was on her cell phone) took a minute before she looked up and saw my standing there. She went and got our server from either outside or the back so we could get our check and be able to leave.

The atmosphere looks great. Nothing wrong with the service. The food was fresh and good quality ingredients, but extremely bland. Nothing had flavor. Nothing was bad, but could use some onions, pepper, or lime.

Food was very bland. It was freezing in the restaurant and we could feel the cold air coming through the wall. Waitress was very sweet and courteous.

Large menu options with all meat and seafood (or vegetarian) - plus ala carte options. I'd say food is 'country Mexican'-- good- sized portions of rice and beans with relatively large entree portions. Service has been spotty sometimes- waiting to order and follow- up visits for refills or other requests.Dietary restrictions: I have celiac immune disorder and have not had reactions to chips and dips before meal, nachos appetizer (big enough to have a entree) , and chili relleno.

Very good restaurant, but not the best when it's packed out. But overall, if you're looking for mexican, it's better than going to Asheville.
