To be fair, we have been terribly disappointed with Chinese food since moving to NC from the Northeast. Still can't understand why no one has terriake beef but most have terriake chicken? Anyway, the fried rice (both chicken and pork) has been great, as has the lot mein. China Garden has become our go to place for Chinese as just about everything we've got there has been well prepared, tasty and reasonably priced.

Great General Tso's chicken, and fast service! It was nice and crispy. I asked for spice and they actually made it spicy. 👍🏼👍🏼

The broccoli with the brown sauce, the sauce was too sticky and bland, the vegetable fried rice tasted more like steamed rice with canned veggies. The fried chicken wings super greasy and sticky. Not good at all yuck!

Food is absolutely terrible. I got house lo mein and general tso chicken. I asked for the chicken to be double fried for that crispy crunch and they are soggy. The sauce isnt even thick, tastes like vinegar and it’s very wet. The lo mein noodles are way overcooked and not al dente. Lo mein is completely flavorless. It saddens me to leave a review this bad however i dont want anyone to waste their money here. This meal cost me $30 and i could of made it better myself.

As far as takeaway Chinese food goes, China Garden isn't a restaurant to write home about. While palatable, the made-to-order dishes are sloppily made and presented, and the customer service is brusque and blasé at best. The offerings aren't best value for the price, but China Garden will have to do for the locals until competition comes along to up the ante.

This location has truly fallen off and the elderly woman that barely speaks English is not an asset to this business in areas of customer service. She is very nasty and rude! This alone does not help in addition, to the quality and taste of the food being bland and not fresh at times 🤮.

Singapore Mei fun was pretty good. Not as much meat as other places in downtown Sanford. Meat was a bit over cooked - shrimp was good, but overall not terrible. Considering what’s available around I would get it again if I didn’t feel like going to my normal spot.

NASTY, FUNKY, FOOD! When you walk into the restaurant it smells bad, that should have been my first warning, pepper steak was watery, had no flavor, tasted kinda funky and smelled worse, the sesame chicken was like a hard yet doughy substance with no actual chicken in it, think of a burnt hush puppy slathered in sesame sauce, fried rice was discusting, the house lomein was dry, nasty like everything else and it had bokchoy in it, who puts bok choy in lomein? This was literally our last meal here before moving and my family said I pulled a Judas on them with our last meal 🤣🤣🤣 like I hate complaining but seriously Just Order SOMEWHERE ELSE so you don’t suffer like us. Also it was overpriced.

Food is reasonably priced and ready quickly. We really enjoy the dumplings.

I ordered the sweet and sour chicken combo tonight. The chicken is an overcooked, dried out, hardened mess. It was truly not edible. I don’t know how they could send this food out of the door in good conscience?

In addition to that, the sweet and sour sauce was an odd dark color. I googled causes and most explanations point towards it being expired or near-expired. I would not be surprised in the least.

Last time I ordered I received overcooked, dry chicken, but not to this extent. I was hoping it was a one-off, but not so. Lesson learned, I’m done with them.
Based on their apparent low standards, I wonder if they also own the one on Buffalo Lake Road?
I think it’s fair to say, you’d probably be less angry if you flushed $20 down the toilet instead of wasting it on this so-called food.
It’s getting really hard to find any decent American-Chinese food around here.
