Stopped by right at closing because a family member knew the owner - got some wonderful pastries to take back with us and had a great conversation … they are doing great things for their community and they make great baked goods. Definitely recommend.

Savory bread pudding?! SOURDOUGH EVERYTHING?! Fresh. Donut. Sunday? Aaaand they're the sweetest. What more can you want...

Budgie's designed a cake for a last minute family celebration. My entire family was blown away including my daughter who's probably worked more weddings than anyone in this town. We all agree this was the best chocolate cake and icing we have ever had. Ever. No one loves cake more than my family and Budgie's hands down beats everyone.

Sundays are donut day and they're delicious!! Their cakes, cupcakes, cookies and everything I've ever had from there is fantastic and they've been really helping the community since Hurricane Helene. Definitely support this local family owned business !!

the chocolate chip cookies had way too much sea salt on them. made it very unpleasant to eat. less salt and not clumped up on the cookies and they would have been good though. the mixed berry muffins were really moist but had very little flavor. the man that was working there was a real sweetheart. it's not necessarily a bad review but maybe more of a constructive criticism.

This place!! 👏🏼 Let me start with why most people will read reviews... we were there on a Sunday and that is donut day which gives me life. That coconut donut, wheewww!!

Ok, onto what makes this place stand out and why you should support them. My friends and I were in town to volunteer this past weekend for the aftermath of Helene. The owners of Budgie's are so kind, welcoming and it seems like a central part of the community. They are currently operating a pantry out of the church next door to help those in need. It's all volunteer run and a spot people can 'shop' for items they need at no cost. While we were helping here we saw some supplies that were low so we did a run to donate to the cause. The employees at the Dollar General raved about how amazing this couple is and how they opened their doors to help when power and service was out for many. I found that consistent in their reviews as well.

Good food is always worth telling others about but when people who own a business go to these lengths to care for their community and are a beacon of light they deserve all the support. I'll be back to Budgie's anytime I'm in the area!

They made the most delicious chocolate raspberry birthday cake for my friend's 50th birthday party. Everyone oohed and aahed over how pretty it was, and it tasted divine! Their customer service was beyond outstanding. See you soon!

We came here after the ravages of Hurricane Helene, and fortunately, these fine folks had their utilities restored when so much of the grid was shut down. This family run bakery became a welcome refuge. We enjoyed delicious, high-quality quiches, bottomless coffee, and tasty desserts. These were comforting treats after struggling through the aftermath of the storm. The staff was incredibly welcoming, creating a relaxed environment that felt like visiting family for some sweet comfort. A great mom & pop stop that provided both warmth and exceptional food during a challenging time.

Budgies is a staple in the community. The love and service they’ve poured into the community after Helene has been so heartwarming. That’s on top of the DELICIOUS and unique food and drinks, and local art for sell.
