Elena’s occupies the building next to Sonic, in the Food Lion parking lot, erstwhile the home of two other Mexican restaurants and a Greek place. Fun fact, a remnant of the Greek restaurant has remained in place for many years now, visible in the foyer’s ceiling.

It was ok. Something really odd tasting in the salsa though. First time I’ve ever been to a Mexican restaurant and not finished a basket of chips, all because the salsa was so weird tasting. It looked normal, but tasted like it had a dollop of mayonnaise in it. The chips were really dry on their own. The cheese in my enchilada was not melted all the way, and they just added shredded chicken on top. The enchilada sauce was a bit thin and watery. My wife enjoyed her cheese...
