We went for lunch a couple of weeks ago from Canton. It’s the first time that we’ve been to the Maggie Valley location and I can’t say enough great things about it! We will definitely be back. Special shout out to the chef who made the amazing Pad Thai. I’ve been looking for authentic Pad Thai since I left the UK and moved to North Carolina. It was really fantastic! Beers, ambience and servers were amazing too!
I love this brewery and all their beers. They have an excellent selection and food on site, too. I'm praying they open up again very soon.

Visited here in August 2024. The atmosphere of this place was amazing and that alone gives it a 10/10 for me. The cheesesteak that I had was one of the best I’ve ever tried and the staff was super sweet and helpful.
We had an unfortunate experience with a tubing outfitter next door, and bearwaters brewing and cold mtn tubing were so kind, took us out on the water last minute without reservation’s, and turned what could have been a bachelorette party disaster into a highlight of our trip!
I was there for the Beer. Great options. They had several gose(s) is that a word? A few lagers, a pils, and an IPA. Omg get the blueberry and/or Oktoberfest. Not sure get a flight. I l8ved the outdoor spaces around the "river."

Went here after tubing the Pigeon River. Great drinks, best BLT we've ever had. Great talks with locals. Definitely will be back.

We had a good time on our first visit this past Saturday after a fun tubing adventure! We loved the efficiency of ordering our beers and drinks at the bar, and the food came out super fast. The Reuben and Philly were great, although pricing was a bit high.
Nice atmosphere and excellent service, thanks to Jackson and Jamie at the bar. They were helpful with our choices, and genuinely kind people. Can't wait to come back soon!

Updated review. As a local and longtime patron, I'm saddened by how my feelings for this establishment have changed for the worse lately. Overpriced food is my first complaint, sporting a wild $19.05 for a single reheated pretzel after tax and tip. The transition to table service only is another disappointment, as you'll often be left waiting for 20 minutes or more for someone to even notice you. The main saving grace was the bar staff, but the new management (owner?) has been driving them away with cruel and abusive practices. The community involvement and local support that was once a big selling point is gone. I'm not particularly surprised, yet I still mourn.

**EDIT** Since my original review 5 years ago, my view of Bearwaters has completely changed. The new ownership/management (it's unclear if they actually own the business now) is beyond awful. Many long-time staff members have quit due to the unethical (and frankly cruel) actions of the new owners/managers. I used to love this place, but I will no longer be visiting--and I'll be sure to spread the word.**
I live in Canton, and we are thrilled to have BearWaters in our backyard! The beer is wonderful; the staff is friendly and knowledgeable; and the space is inviting and relaxing. Especially in warmer weather, there is tons of seating (inside and outside), with games to play and lots of friendly people. Even in colder weather, it's cozy and warm inside (especially the upstairs seating area!). I also appreciate how involved BearWaters is in the local community. BearWaters is the best; it's definitely worth a visit!

Party of 6, first time for all of us. We have low expectations these days. The food was pretty good. Service was terrible. Bartender was impatient. Some of our party were done with their food before others got theirs. Noticed server roll her eyes at us more than once. Definitely would NOT go back.

$17 dollars for the sunburst trout dip (tuna salad), 6 tiny naan, some celery and cherry tomatoes. This was NOT what I was expecting for that price, I’ll let the picture speak for itself. Tuna salad dip would be a better name on the menu. Pretty disappointed with this places’ food and won’t be eating here anytime soon with the outrageous prices

The beer was good but the food is horribly overpriced. Ive had the philly and compared to other places the quality to price ratio wasnt right. Icing on the cake was a hair in my mac and cheese. The beer was good and the outdoor seating was really cool, so bring a sandwich and order some drinks.
