If you're in the mood for authentic and delicious Sichuan cuisine, this cozy little gem is the place to be! Despite its small size, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or a quiet dinner. The menu is packed with flavorful dishes that transport you straight to the heart of Sichuan.

The Handmade Pork, Shrimp, and Leek Dumplings are an absolute must-try! Each dumpling is perfectly crafted, with a delicate wrapper that gives way to a savory and juicy filling. The balance of pork, shrimp, and leek is absolutely delicious.

Another standout is the Glass Noodles topped with Minced Pork. The noodles are silky smooth, and the minced pork adds a rich, savory depth to the dish. It's simple but bursting with flavor.

For a heartier option, the Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup hits all the right notes. The beef is tender and flavorful, swimming in a rich, aromatic broth that is sure to warm you from the inside out. The noodles are just the right texture, making this dish a comforting and satisfying choice.

Overall, this spot offers an unforgettable Sichuan dining experience with dishes that are both authentic and mouth wateringly good. Highly recommended for anyone craving bold flavors and a cozy atmosphere!

Superb Chinese food. You go there for the food, the service is exactly what it needs to be, and it’s reasonably priced. Good gem.

One of the best chinese I have eaten around this area. Very nice service and no-wait time even during weekend evening. I highly recommend this! The Chicken wings were 🔥🔥.

面条很好吃! I highly recommend visiting if you are a fan of hand-pulled noodles and/or Sichuan cuisine. We had the toothpick lamb, cucumber salad, and tomato egg noodles. Everything was amazing! I can’t wait to go back!

This restaurant didn't meet the expectations set by my friend's recommendation. It's always disappointing when food feels like it's been reheated from frozen, especially when I was hoping for a fresh and enjoyable meal. Service can also make or break a dining experience, and "so-so" service can leave a lot to be desired. I tried sweet and sour pork and sesame chicken. Perhaps I would try a different dish next time.

The food is good very authentic. Therefore, sometimes not consistent especially during busy hours. Other than that, this our go to for Szechuan style.

This place is my favorite sichuan restaurant in the triangle area.
We dine in and watch the chef make hand pulled noodles before chowing down on some truly great sichuan food. This place made my wife like spicy food because the food is just so flavorful that it’s worth the pain of the spice which shows the balance of the dishes where they don’t just overpower with spiciness but also add in tons of additional flavor to their dishes.
Outside the hand pulled noodle dishes we have enjoyed the dry hot pot, scallion pancakes and dumplings. But they have a wide breadth of Chinese dishes on offer including takeout favorites in addition to the more traditional/ authentic Chinese dishes.

My girl & I went here around 9PM, and our first impressions of Chengdu 7 weren't good. The 91% Sanitation Score was concerning; my girl asked if we were sure if we wanted to eat here. I told her that not a lot of restaurants were open after 9 so we decided to give it a shot. We were the only customers dining in, and a young waitress took us to our cheap-looking seats illuminated by dull fluorescent lights. Ambiance is clearly not ideal for a romantic date night.

Chengdu 7's photo-filled menu offers authentic Chinese -Szechuan dishes, including a wide variety of beef at various spice levels. I ordered the $18+ Sizzling Steak in Hot Iron Plate, which came with strips of steak, bell peppers, scallions & white onions. It also came with a small cup of white rice.

My order lived up to its name as it arrived sizzling on a hot iron plate. It tasted how I expected it to be: not spicy but tasty. Wish I had the option to get fried rice instead & amount of rice was not much (waitress did not offer to refill rice). Overall, it was good but not great.

My girl ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, which was served in a large bowl. She was surprised to see the large amount for a $12+ bowl. It was much bigger than the $16+ bowl of beef noodle soup we got from Wheat in Chapel Hill just a few days ago. She said she wouldn't be able to finish it despite having to share with me so she asked for 2 smaller bowls for us because she knew that there'll be leftover for take out.

A Chinese gentleman whom we assumed to be the owner came to help cut the long rice noodles with scissors, so my girl can transfer some of the contents of the soup to the smaller bowls. We were thankful for his caring customer service.

The beef inside the noodle soup was well-cooked and tender but the amount of beef chunks was lacking; my girl wished it had less noodles and more beef. The broth was fine. Overall, not bad for $12+, which was about the same price as the beef tripe appetizer that we wanted to order but decided not to because of its price.

Instead, we ordered a $12 Chili Oil Dumpling. The pork inside tasted amazing with the chili oil, and the texture of the dumplings was perfect. There's a good amount so we ended up taking out about 1/3 of it.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about Chengdu 7. Despite the dull ambiance, low Grade "A" Sanitation Score, and some shortcomings in the food we ordered, it's still not a bad option if you enjoy authentic Szechuan cuisine at a semi-affordable price. Might return here to order for take out.

I've been coming here for my authentic Chinese food cravings since around 2018 or 2019, after I visited China. Cumin lamb, green beans with chilis, egg and tomato, eggplant with garlic sauce... it's like being back in China! We try something new almost every time and have never been disappointed, but they serve their versions of the Americanized staples, too, so you'll still find orange chicken, lo mein, egg drop soup, etc. I recommend trying some new dishes, though! The chef is amazing and puts so much passion into his food. Staff have always been friendly and work very hard to get through the language barrier. Renovations over the past couple of years have made this favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant better and better, too--especially since one of those changes introduced hand-pulled noodles and, with them, another slew of authentic, delicious dishes! I'll be coming back again and again. I really love introducing my friends to Chengdu 7!
