This place is a secret hole in a wall. I almost didn’t walk it, it looked very poor on the outside. But was pleasantly surprised as soon as I opened the door. Chinese food here is authentic and tops or equivalent to all others. Staff was super service oriented.
I was disappointed with my Dan Dan noodles order. Maybe I had high expectations. I made the order over the phone and they’d say it would be ready in 15-min. The food tasted like it had been sitting out for an hour. The noodles were super dry, stale and had conformed into the shape of the takeout plate. They were cold and the taste was underwhelming. Maybe I should try another item next time.
We will try the entire menu of Chengdu eventually. Their food is phenomenal and food portion is amazing (between me and my husband, we can eat two meals out of one portion lol haha and we are big time foodies). They have the best crab rangoons (huge in size and stuffed wirh cream cheese filling), their chicken and pepper hotpot is one of our favorite items and the beef boiled in Sichuan sauce is delicious.
