Dame's Chicken & Waffles Reviews
Was excited to try this spot! Service was amazing, food totally subpar. Chicken arrived cool, not at all warm, waffles were undercooked and sausage and eggs overcooked. Definitely first and last visit for us! Totally disappointing experience.
I wanted to give a shout-out to Andre for assisting me with coordinating a Brunch, Learn, & Secure the bag: FAFSA event for my students at The A&T Four Middle College. He was very responsive and ensured that the menu was a perfect fit for my students & families!
Kudos to Chris who made sure that the delivery & setup were on point! My parents and students raved about how good the food was.
The event was a success and we are thankful for y’all.
Manager, Kim, was accommodating and willing to work through our concerns. Our waitress, well that’s another story. She actually laughed in our face while Kim was as standing at our table.
Disappointing to keep it short - definitely needs to work with the food preparation. Our chicken & waffles were too hard for our liking.

Dame's Chicken & Waffles offers a taste of New Orleans in every meal. The restaurant uses ingredients and recipes from Louisiana, evident in their delicious shrimp and grits. The chicken is exceptional, with perfect seasoning and frying technique. The gingerbread waffle is a must-try, and the Calypso sauce, though more BBQ-esque than expected, still offers a delightful flavor.
The service is commendable, with the staff providing a warm welcome to customers. However, the sides such as mac and cheese and waffles may not travel well as takeout, and it is recommended to dine in for a better experience. The fruit order is noteworthy, as the restaurant specifies the type of fruit included.
Customers have praised the restaurant's great chickens and waffles, with the Carolina Cockerel being a popular choice. The sweet potato waffle is also noted as interesting and delicious. The service is described as great, and the ambiance as simple and clean. Brunch is a popular time, and it's best to make an appointment, especially on weekends. The blueberry smash and whiskey drizzle are highlighted as perfect additions to the waffle.
