Such great, tasty Mexican food, good service, wonderful atmosphere. Easily the best Mexican spot around.

Stopped for dinner for the first time. Wow, service led by Mia the hostess and Jack of all trades and our waitress Shelby knocked it outta the park! Food was great, it was enjoyable sipping cocktails watching the staff hustling and working together to feed lots of hungry people. I congratulated the Manager for having a well trained staff who has each other's backs. Thanks again.

I was really hoping the other review that stated that the salsa tasted like canned tomatoes with cilantro mixed in was wrong, but unfortunately it is true. I ordered the carne tacos for almost 20 bucks and you get three tiny tacos, beans and rice. The steak was tender and well seasoned but the rice was room temp and crunchy with no fresh lime or cilantro that I could tell. The beans were okay again not very hot okay tasting. Also for being a Mexican restaurant I was shocked when I asked for salsa Verde and they said they don't have any then offered me tomatillo sauce aka salsa Verde ?. Also asked if they had hot sauce and then was provided with various other salsa s. The pico they gave me as a side with my tacos was made with such unripe tomatoes they might as well have been green. The only thing at this place that hit it's mark was the amazing Margarita.

Food is really good. Service is top notch. Music is too loud in my opinion to have a conversation without raising your voice.

Do not support businesses that expect every person patronizing their business to be carrying around a device to scan a sticker to be able to see a menu.Shame because the food is good but clearly we couldn't care less about quality service and a welcoming atmosphere.$20-30 a person and you don't want me to, you expect and demand me to scan a code to look at your menu on a tiny screen. We left.

Always a fun and great meal at Gonza. The food & drinks are amazing and the atmosphere is energetic without being loud. Menu has lots of variety without being overwhelming, plus the server gave us her top 4 favorites. I always go for the chilaquiles verde and they never disappoint. They had a special drink for Valentine's/Galentine's that was a strawberry coconut concoction and despite my usual distaste for coconut, it was fantastic! (I started with my basic Patrón margarita rocks, but switched after tasting my friend's special.) Love the decor and especially the lights.

Our dinner experience at Gonza was excellent. We had a reservation so we only had to wait a few minutes for our booth (which we requested and were able to get). Food, excellent, service, excellent, margarita, excellent. We have eaten at this Gonza many times and this was our best experience yet! It's always a bit noisy, but there were only 3 of us so we had no trouble hearing each other in a booth. Gonza is our first choice when it comes to eating Mexican

This was actually my first time eating at a Gonza Tacos y Tequila! Which is crazy because they're all over the place here. We came in on a Saturday night and of course it was super busy. The wait was only 25 mins but instead we decided to sit at the bar and just eat there, the food got there within 5 minutes of us ordering, so it was a great idea for us to sit there instead of wait for a table or booth. The bartender was so nice and chatted with us a lot. The food was really good! Loved their queso and guacamole. My shrimp quesadillas were very spicy for me though.

DINER

The staff was very friendly and courteous. I had made a reservation in advance, but we got seated at a table beside the kitchen door and the restrooms. There was a lot of coming and going. I would think that a table in that area would be used for diners who walk in without a reservation, since it's not ideally located. I ordered a margarita (I expected it to be outstanding since the restaurant serves Mexican food), but there was a ton of ice in it and not much flavor to it. I drank it then ordered a second one, asking for much less ice and it was much better. I would normally only have one drink, but the first one just didn't meet expectations. We didn't have to wait long at all for our food and all four of us agreed that the food was very good. Large portions, quality ingredients and tasty. Our server was nice and efficient, the only negative is that when she was serving and clearing dishes, she would hold dishes over one of us, risking dropping it in a lap or bumping it into a shoulder. The restaurant is clean and has a fun ambiance. The location is good. I would go again.

Gonza is a top Raleigh/Cary restaurant for me. Their food from appetizers to entrees (I am always too full to try dessert though) is flavorful and delicious. Margaritas--perfection. Enjoy the decor and atmosphere. Two dings--like most retail, they struggle with retaining wait staff. Their guacamole is so good--but, you get one small scoop for like $9. That doesn't keep me from returning and bringing family and friends. The shrimp tacos are smoky and spicy, and the Chile Relleno is a unique and yummy alternative to tacos and burritos.
