Honeysuckle Gelato is a great addition to Cary’s growing collection of upscale shops, nestled among enough face serums and $100 leggings to make your wallet break into a nervous sweat. It’s not the newest kid on the block, but it’s definitely part of the fresh wave of “treat yourself” spots popping up in the area.
The flavor selection? Impressive. The gelato itself? Not bad at all. In fact, some scoops are quite good. But let’s be real—if you’ve had gelato in Florence or Rome, this won’t exactly make you weep with nostalgia. It’s more “souvenir spoon” than “sacred Italian experience.” Tasty, sure, but not candle-holding worthy.
That said, the banana bread pudding flavor deserves a round of applause. It channels the warm, gooey glory of Magnolia Bakery’s iconic dessert and almost justifies the trip on its own. It’s rich, comforting, and dangerously easy to inhale.
But here’s where things get sticky: the tipping prompt. A $1 or $2 suggested tip… for scooping a single scoop of gelato? Unless that scoop comes with a eucalyptus-steamed towel and a brief guided meditation, we might need to rethink the service-to-tip ratio. It’s gelato, not a five-course tasting menu.
In short, Honeysuckle Gelato is a solid stop for a sweet treat and some light indulgence, just don’t expect the Roman holiday of your dreams. And maybe bring your own spa towel.
Delicious flavors with a welcoming store front and representative for the business! My daughter tried a combo of vanilla and raspberry sherbet which were equally delicious and wonderfully paired together! I was suggested to try the banana pudding and was not led astray! The banana pudding reminded me INSTANTLY of my favorite childhood cake from Entenmann's - hurry before it's removed from their summer menu but don't forget to also try their chocolate brownie gelato as well!
No matter what you choose, you'll find the gelato at Honeysuckle is a great treat for the whole family at a very reasonable price!
Will be keeping this spot on our radar!
Its the best gelato I've ever had. They have vegan options which is great for me because my dietary restrictions. Their vegan gelato is better any ice cream ive ever had. Creamy, smooth, and sweeth and eclipses all the things I miss about diary ice cream. Lactose intolerance is a b. Would buy this franchise if I had the opportunity. They also make a decent cup of coffee!
Amazing Gelato and reasonable prices.
They have great customer service and amazing Gelato that includes vegan options!
Amazing
My kids like the gelato but we have never had a single person who works there actually act like they want to be there. Getting a treat should be an enjoyable experience. This is not.
The young lady working was very friendly and helpful.
I tried the banana pudding and it was like spot on. I decided to mix it with the cinnamon roll.
Best decision ever!!
The cinnamon roll tastes just like it would be baked, frosting and all.
Definitely a good choice for a sweet treat if in the area.
Absolutely delicious! This was first time trying Honeysuckle Gelato and I am officially hooked. The Mango flavor was vibrant and refreshing , however the standout for me was the Honey Lavender. Can’t wait to try more flavors.
Great little spot! The two girls working there today were super friendly and helpful; serving everything with a smile. Delicious ice cream and awesome service—Definitely coming back for more scoops soon!

Good gelato
This was my first time trying this place. I’m from out of town but travel here frequently for work. The girl working here was so sweet and gave me samples to try what flavor I may want. I ended up getting the chocolate and peanut butter gelato and it was amazing! Highly recommend this place! Plus, they have a beautiful outside seating area to enjoy your ice cream at!
Went at 9pm on a Saturday and they were busy but the line moved fast and the staff were very friendly. The lady told me they always have at least 4 vegan options - not all of them were labeled with a “v” so that was somewhat confusing. But they had 2 sorbets and 2 non-sorbets (peanut butter and chocolate brownie chunk in this instance). They also make vegan-friendly milkshakes using oat milk. Unfortunately they were out of oat milk when I was there so I was unable to get the milkshake I wanted. But the ice cream is good and honestly pretty well priced compared to other ice cream places nowadays. Just wish they had oat milk. Maybe next time.
It’s so good ! I keep hoping they will have the buttermilk blackberry again . I had honey lavender this time and it was tasty too .
Honeysuckle is our favorite icecream in Cary! They have unique flavors and they are all exquisite!
