My family were at the Cary park and wanted to treat my daughter with something new. So we decided to stop at Howdy's. I ordered a cup of chocolate with peanut cup, because they had no regular chocolate. My husband ordered him rocky road and my daughter a cup of strawberry with sprinkles. Everything was great UNTIL we saw one of the employees eating ice cream straight out of the ice cream containers with his hand. Yes his hand....no glove or anything. Did to several containers. Grossed us out we didn't even finish our ice cream we threw them away. We told the other employee working wearing glasses. The impression we got from him was that this is not the first time that other employee had done it and won't be the last. There should be some form of management there at all time and cameras. They Wake County Health Department will definitely be the next place I reach out to. This employees actions are unsanitary and straight up gross

The birthday cake and Dr pepper are both great! The dr pep was just the slightest bit icy but the flavor was still awesome. I'll definitely be coming back to try more flavors! I can't wait!

While I would give five stars to the business model which I think is an awesome idea and led me to justifying a $10 purchase for a pint of ice cream (which I would normally never do), I'm basing my review off of their ice cream.I bought the chocolate ice cream and it was just not good. The ice cream itself isn't creamy but has an icy texture instead without all that much flavor. It also had some "chocolate" chips/flakes mixed in which ended up tasting waxy instead of chocolatey once they finally melted in my mouth. Overall, the ice cream was icy with very little flavor. Not sure if it was because I bought a pint of it and maybe it was sitting in the freezer too long receiving some freezer burn as they don't seal their pints but it just was not good. Tasted like a store brand ice cream at best.I really wanted to like it because I think the business is great for the community but they need to support their great idea with a great product, instead of one that tastes low quality.
