Went here after me and my wife were missing pork tonkatsu we had in Japan. We got the pork cutlet lunch which we thought would be a good craving quencher. It definitely wasn’t what we were expecting. The pork was thin and the breading was heavy. The cabbage was sad and pale and there were also random vegetables included. Rice was pretty good though. All that to say, if you go expecting to get food exactly like you would in Japan, this probably isn’t the place for you.

Came at 8pm.

We sat down and were served cold poke bowls in recyclable to-go containers with chopsticks and no option for other silverware.

After the waitress sat us and took our orders, we were not checked on once.

At 8:38pm, the sushi staff turned on blaring Japanese music. Our experience does not seem to fit what others are usually saying. I would understand if this were to happen on Christmas Eve maybe? Disappointing and not really understanding the entire lack of experience or service. Maybe it’s because we are a mixed race couple. Unsure.

I highly recommend this place to visit! The food is definitely better than in many similar establishments. Very responsive staff does their job perfectly.

Prices are above average, but there is something to pay extra for. The quality of food is clearly different from other establishments. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

It's always an amazing experience. High-quality food and service. Small location but high traffic. It's possibly a small wait but worth it. Have patience as the staff are very hard working and striving to accommodate all customers in a timely fashion.

I spent 5 years working and living in Japan so I know Japanese food. This is as close as it gets in the triangle. Waraji used to be like this but they’ve fallen completely off the cliff. I think there may be places that serve sushi closer to “American” standards and tastes but this place seems to be as close to authentic and fresh as I’ve had. Prepare to pay 40+ per person.

We had gotten the cool traditional table, there were 12 of us and Maria, our server, showed great courage and resolve when one of our own went into labor.
Maria went into doctor mode immediately and helped us deliver a beautiful baby girl. The process was extensive and painful but through it all, Maria held strong.

Food was really good too. 10/10 would recommend

I'd give more than 5 if I could! What an excellent place, the food is delicious, you can reserve the traditional sit-down room (that sits 14 by the way) for extra atmosphere. What makes this place one of my favorites, though, is the excellent staff. They're exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful. The desert is excellent too! Check this place out, Maria will take care of you!!
