Amazing BBQ full of flavor and nothing disappointing. The meats were full of flavor. We did the platter dish. And the Brussel sprouts were hands down my favorite app. Highly recommend and very thankful I found this Gem in the heart of downtown Cary, NC. Perfect date night and stroll the city.
The family is racist! Jake’s mother is a Karen and believes white people are superior.
Let me make one thing absolutely undeniable: Lawrence BBQ in Cary isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a full-blown force of good in this community. A culinary powerhouse and a charitable wrecking ball wrapped in smoke, flavor, and hospitality so genuine it practically glows. From the second you walk in, the place feels special. Spotless. Warm. Buzzing. The kind of energy you only get when a team actually cares about what they’re doing. And the staff? Listen… I don’t know what’s in the hiring manual here, but these might be the most outrageously attractive, charming humans to ever serve barbecue. Southern hospitality, but elevated — like hospitality with cheekbones. And the food. Oh my goodness, the food. The barbecue is exceptional — sincerely, transcendently exceptional. Brisket that melts like it has emotional depth. Ribs that surrender at the lightest touch. Turkey so juicy it should be studied in a lab. Every bite tastes like hours of craftsmanship, intention, and obsession. Lawrence BBQ isn’t dabbling in barbecue — they’re mastering it. But the showstopper? The grilled oysters. Smoky. Buttery. Otherworldly. These oysters are so divine they might actually convert non-believers. They’re the kind of dish that makes you push your plate away for a second just to process what just happened. Truly unreal. And all of that — the looks, the vibe, the service, the food — would already make Lawrence BBQ a knockout. But here’s what takes them from excellent to iconic: Their generosity. Their heart. Their community impact. Lawrence BBQ pours time, energy, resources, and genuine love into supporting the Frankie Lemmon School, a phenomenal program for children with special needs here in the Triangle. This isn’t a performative, once-a-year gesture. This is consistent, meaningful involvement — the kind that changes lives and strengthens a community. Their care and hospitality don’t end at the register. They ripple outward — into classrooms, families, and kids who benefit directly from their generosity. It tells you everything you need to know about who these people are. So yes, the food is outrageously good. Yes, the restaurant is immaculate. Yes, the staff looks like the cast of a barbecue rom-com I would absolutely watch. But the heart behind it all? That’s what makes Lawrence BBQ a true treasure. Five stars. Infinite stars. A must-visit, a must-support, and a must-tell-everyone-you-know kind of place
Best chicken wings and brisket ever! A must visit whenever we have friends and family in town. So glad they have this new location in a better area. Can’t wait for the construction next door to be finished so it won’t look so tucked away. Definitely a must visit now whenever we go to downtown Cary!

Ate here on 20 September, which might have been a day or two after their opening date. Probably won’t go back. Atmosphere is reminiscent of a cafeteria. Not a lot of ambiance and a bit loud. Beer selection was limited. Food was okay. I had wings which were tasty but had weird cold spots. Must have been microwaved to have the temp variations they had. Brisket was good but didn’t wow me. The greens were really good (sides are ala carte). They were the highlight of my meal. Wife had a burger and it wasn’t prepared as ordered and it went back. Her fries were somewhat dry and warm at best. Was really hoping for great BBQ, but this didn’t do it for me.

Lawrence is back and better than ever!
Their new rotisserie style smoker is pumping out the absolute best brisket they’ve ever made, and everything on the menu is an absolute banger.
Don’t miss the brisket, brussel sprouts, tangy red slaw, or the dry rub smoked wings, which pairs perfectly with their take on Alabama white sauce, in the self serve sauce station.

Lawrence Barbecue is off to a great start in their new Cary location. The food was delicious and a great portion for the price. The staff was super friendly and helpful! Cory was particularly great, trying to help me choose from all the delicious options. I can't wait to go back and explore the rest of the menu - there's so much to choose from! The brisket, the wings, and the oysters are all 11 out of 10.

Great selection of southern foods with an elevated twist. Sure to please the die-hard barbecue lover but with touches that will win new fans. Side items are popular. The fries are plentiful. Raw oyster fans will be pleased. You’ll be planning your next trips to try the items you missed and to enjoy new favorites
THE FOOD IS AMAZING!! 🏆 It’s extremely hard not to return daily to dine.
