Some of the best sushi I've had since being in Japan. Even the rice was outstanding, as it should be. The service was also excellent. Our waitress was knowledgable and very helpful in designing a progression to get a good selection and variety. One of our party had a shellfish allergy and she was able to get a selection put together that accommodated that allergy but did not sacrifice the overall experience.

We sat the sushi bar, which I would highly recommend. The sushi chefs are quite chatty and willing to answer questions and dialog. It's especially fun to watch them make the food and take extra care with the presentation. I realize rolls are normally quite decorated, but the way they approached presentation was a bit more elegant and understated than a full blown explosion of decor and to be able to watch the attention to detail was fun. The quality of the fish was outstanding, including the over-the-top deep red color in their tuna. My only two digs on M Sushi was they didnt have raw salmon (sake sushi) which is my favorite and the price. It was very expensive, even for high quality sushi, which is not a surprise in the Fenton market place area. All the restaurants (eg, Colletta, Crawford & Sons) and bars are priced higher than I believe they should be given the food. I mean, it was great food and service, but maybe not worth as much as we paid if we were eating there on a regular basis. I would definitely go back but would save for more special occasion sushi dining versus getting it once or twice a month.

Paid for the Grand Omakase for 3 to celebrate a birthday. Very disappointed. I love M Sushi but this wasn't worth it. One had an allergy to pineapple and their substitution for the "palette cleanser" that was pineapple in a raspberry sauce, they just brought her a bowl of raspberry sauce. Very disappointed based off of previous experiences with M Sushi restaurants.

The food was excellent, but with tables close together it felt a bit crowded, though it never became noisy. Less positively, the server seemed rather eager to reclaim our table, presenting the check almost immediately after we finished dinner, not offering dessert or anything. After placing the check near the edge of the table, he then moved it to the center. We had been there less than 50 minutes. It was an “eat and get out” vibe that seemed totally out of line with this kind of restaurant.

There much better place for sushi, both in terms of experience and food.

Went for my birthday and was there for the first time. Everything is close quarters, prices are through the roof.

I’ve been to a lot of nice places like this, the service has been better from staff outside of our server, seating is definitely better elsewhere and prices are much higher here.

Over priced and under appreciated. We were there for my birthday and had a 5 pm reservation…asked to be at the bar because everything is 1 foot from each other…they helped at least…..Ben was amazing…..:but we literally got kicked out at 6:45 after paying $300 for a 2 person meal.

Respect means a lot. They want turnover, not to make your experience great.

We celebrated our anniversary at M Sushi Cary, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. My partner had the omakase, which was absolutely delicious — every course was thoughtful, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. I started with the crispy rice, which was perfectly done, followed by a 6-piece nigiri that tasted incredibly fresh. The Chilean sea bass was the standout for me — it truly melted in my mouth and was cooked to perfection. To make the night even more special, the staff surprised us with champagne for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. The service, food, and attention to detail made our celebration feel genuinely special. We can't wait to come back.

This place is good but not great. Definitely overhyped. Server was very good and knowledgeable about the menu. The sushi was good but not any better than other sushi I’ve had. People in the reviews say this is some of the best sushi in the world but I’ve definitely had better. I tried one speciality roll and two nigiris, nigiris were pretty tasteless. Roll was good.

Environment is weird. It’s like a dark cave and the walls are supposed to look like rock. Restaurant is freezing. If you’re looking for a place with warmth and ambiance this ain’t it

Probably some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside but the food - gross.

A fantastic experience. But there was a mix-up at Open Table, that moved our reservation from a table to the bar, which was impossible for our party. Happily, the restaurant found a way to accomodate us.

Jefferson took such good care of us. We sat at the sushi bar celebrating my friend's birthday and they offered her a glass of bubbly on the house. The food was wonderful!
