Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls

I just took a visit at this Cary location. I got the Connecticut Lobster Roll Bar Harbor style. It was so delicious! Lobster meat was plentiful, tender and juicy. The bun was toasted and buttery. Will definitely come back!

Garlic shrimp roll was amazing. We got complimentary clam chowder and lobster bisque. Clam chowder was my favorite, great food and amazing hospitality. Would definitely recommend!! (Lobster grilled cheese was a 10/10 too)

I was excited to try this place. Lobster mac&cheese was cold in the middle leading me to believe it was just heated in the toaster oven. Tasted good once heated up. Lobster rolls were small and not enough to be considered a meal -at least they were warm. We walked in to an empty store, no music, and awkward atmosphere. Not worth over $60 worth of food. After reading reviews I understand that they are short staffed and seem to be struggling - however that is not an excuse to blow off bad reviews. Wishing I would have read them beforehand. And I wish the owner best of luck and a change of perspective.

I forgot that this place is here because it's a bit far from where I live and don't get up this way much. Thankfully, I remembered today after being disappointed that I forgot about their competitors' food truck being in my neighborhood last night.

We hit it at a slow time, I guess cos we were the only ones there. Once we finished, more people started trickling in.

So, we both got the CT lobster roll with butter. It was filling, and the flavor was good. To be honest, this venture was a comparison for me since I really love crab legs and have eaten for years. I think I prefer crab more because it's sweet, which I don't find lobster to be. I know they have crab, too, so may try that next time.

The gentleman who took our order was nice, and our food came up quickly. I don't know if the meat arrives already out of the shell to make the prep quicker or if it's just that easy to steam up.

It was not what I expected for the price. The crab meat is fresh and good. I was not impressed with the lobster roll.

Ok I came here to look at reviews before I come here tomorrow or Tuesday and I’m going for take myself to cousins Maine lobster which is excellent after reading the owners NASTY responses to honest reviews. WOW JUST WOW

If you want to waste your time and money then come here. Says there open and there not. Why take orders and take my $ when it says it’s open but no one is even here. Door locked, lights off..This place sucks, worst establishment. This is the result of corporate greed, and terrible ownership. I simply wanted to treat myself to a lobster roll and the worst part is they steal your money, nice scam….ive already placed a report to the local police

Came in to the employee sitting down & that’s okay but I wasn’t greeted or wasn’t told they would be there with me shortly. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes and still nothing. The rolls are good. The service I got was horrible.

Lobster rolls are authentic and similar to what is offered in New England states especially Maine. Not as generous on the lobster meat though. Soup was not very good. Limited selection.
Restaurant was smoky with poor ventilation. Restrooms needed wiping down. Furnishings are basic.

Lobster grill cheese was amazing just wish it had a little more lobster, lobster BLT was soo delicious would get it over and over again.

It's pricey but worth it in terms of quality. I was able to make three separate meals with the roll that has 50 percent more lobster using two coleslaws, which made enjoying the great flavor more economical for me. I was very satisfied with each separate meal that I made.

Stopped in on Saturday, had the classic lobster mac & cheese, and crab roll and it was better than my trip to Maine
The manager there was very friendly and kind
