We visited this evening for our anniversary dinner after seeing nceatandplay recommend it. The location was lovely and the garden outside was well taken after. We sat inside because of my allergies. They seemed short staffed but the host and runner were efficient and friendly. I can’t recommend this restaurant due to how horrible our server was.The server’s name is Oscar. He never introduced himself, we only figured his name out after receiving our receipt. Right from the jump, he did not make us feel welcomed. He literally asked us “what do you want”. We chalked up his lack of pleasantries to being understaffed and overworked. When our food got to the table, one of the dishes was not what we ordered. Which again, things happen. My partner got up to let the host know after waiting a bit to see if our server would come check on us. Oscar came back very angry. He shouted that we ordered one of the dishes and started reading off of the wrong set of notes first. He did note down the wrong dish apparently and continued to accuse my partner of ordering it. We firmly but politely let him know that we did not order that dish and let him know which one we ordered. He left in a huff with the dish we did not order. The host came over to check on us. He was polite and apologetic.Towards the end of our meal, another couple was seated in our area. We flagged him for our check before he made it over to their table. We noted he didn’t introduce himself to them either but was a lot more pleasant and courteous with them. Oscar left and came back with the other table’s drinks. My partner inquired about our check again as he was leaving the room and Oscar shouted “just wait”.The beef was tender but the rice served with it was old and broken. Green dragon maki was lovely. Unagi don was okay. The tamago and cucumber served with it was a little stale.Pictured along with the dishes we ordered is prawns. They looked lovely but we didn’t eat them.

The food was good, but the prices were high and the servings small. Service was excellent.Parking: We parked in the old library lot next door. Got the last spot.

We've been coming to MC for years, and I still like it...but I feel like the food quality has taken a bit of a nose dive the past two times we've gone. Our favorite rolls were just ok. And prices are getting a bit high. Service was good, almost too fast! We had drinks, appetizers and dinner and were in and out in 45 minutes!

Our appetizer & entrees were outstanding/delicious and service was very good. Per our request, we were seated in the “quietest” area of the restaurant, which was still pretty active but acceptable noise level - the dining rooms are fairly small (it's an old house converted to a restaurant) with tables fairly close together, so expect a fair amount of chatter from other diners' conversations. We will definitely return for the exceptional food.

Our dinner at this restaurant was really nice. The sushi that we had was top notch, very fresh and tasty. We also had a main giant shrimp plate that was amazing as well. The ribeye main was very plain and came on a hot stone., a bit awkward. I was expecting more flavor based on the description. The service and everything else was really worth the premium cost, I'm sure we'll be back. My recommendations would be to stick to the seafood, that seems to be their strong suit. Be sure to make a reservation.

The ambience was nice, the service was great, the presentation was lovely, I just wish it tasted as good as it looked. Nothing was wrong or off, it was just anticlimactic more than anything else.

We had reservations for 8:30. We were seated right away and our waiter came over right away as well. Food was excellent and service was as well. My only complaint would be that they were out of two of the items we wanted to order. They did come back and say they had made a mistake and had one of the items we wanted. I did not check so this is on me but if you want to dine here, check their hours. They close at 9pm on Valentine's Day.

Amazing food and service! It was extremely loud at times and impossible to hear our server walk through the menu. We look forward to our next visit as the food and service were 5 stars!

This was our first visit here, so given that I found their website and Facebook page lacking, I was concerned that the meal itself might be subpar. I've never been so glad to be so wrong. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We started with a very fresh selection of sashimi, followed by that evening's special fish dish and the on menu pork chop. It's difficult for even the best restaurants to get fish spot on. It's often overcooked, but this was perfectly done; moist and flavorful. Ditto the pork chop. While I thought the lighting was not particularly good, this critique is not enough to keep us from another visit. The setting in this period house is warm and cozy. Cary is fortunate to have access to a restaurant of this caliber.

Service was outstanding. Attentive and accommodating for we informed the waitress that we had a guest who is deaf, the manager came over with their menu special of the day written on paper. Food was just divine, their cocktails spot on and the prices very reasonable. They seated us in the front where we had a view of the beautiful and new downtown Cary Park. We will definitely return.

Very Disappointed. We felt rushed the entire time. We were one of the first customers seated on a Friday evening so the place was pretty empty. Some training on how to be friendly/provide exceptional customer service would be helpful for him. The food was good. This is an expensive restaurant and the service should match the cost. Likely will not return.

The guy at the front is the absolute best, I wish I asked his name. From the time I made a reservation, to the time we left, he never forgot us.

Been there twice. Had GREAT experiences both times. Only critique would be for that death by chocolate cake. It definitely was not that. It was a more like a coffee flavored mousse cake. Overall, great experience. Will be back.
