The service was excellent. The waiter was very nice and friendly. I went here looking for some good NY pastrami. I had a 1/2 corned beef half pastrami sandwich. Honestly, it tasted just like the one I get at Jason's Deli.

I ordered a pound of top round pastrami to go. I am a pastrami lover. Mookie's is one of the few places that sells it in my area.
Mookie lover for life!

The chopped cheese sandwich was fantastic! Their hand cut fries are also amazing. To top it off, they have my favorite drink Dr. Brown’s black cherry. Megan was a fantastic server as well. Lastly, they were in our coupon book. All around great meal!

Delicious deli sandwiches, especially the corned beef. Worth the drive from Chapel Hill, if you like NY style deli!

This is a nice local hang-out with an inviting bar and small dining area. They provide a high quality deli meal that would in no way be considered pub grub. The variety is excellent and the NY style flavors are delicious and engaging. I appreciated that the low stock or out of stock items were communicated clearly and early. I hate nothing more than making up my mind from the menu only to be told, "sorry we're out". The Upper West Side Eggroll had a nice crispy exterior with a mix of pastrami and slaw inside. The filling was a little light making it a little on the "bready" side, but it still carried a good flavor and the honey sriracha was superb. Marcey's Crispy Brussel Sprouts had an excellent blend of thick balsamic vinaigrette, a smattering of thinly sliced onions, a little pastrami for flavor. The pan sear on the sprouts was perfect and it was quite filling. The homemade fries with your sandwich are obviously homemade with the expected gentle limpness. As with most fries, you need to dig into them while still hot. Havana on the Hudson was a generous sandwich that is a meal in itself. A nice, fresh bread with copious amounts of meat and toppings that were all cooked to proper tenderness and super satisfying. What a delicious experience.

Good food. Good service. And speedy delivery of your food.
Portions and quality was on par for the price. Stop by and support those local spots to keep those mom and pop restaurants around and thriving because locations like these are what gives a city/town/community a distinguished character and a diverse offering from big chain establishments.
Had no complaints while I was here for a worktrip. I'll make sure to stop again next time in town to try more of their menu.

Really enjoyed the space, food and overall vibe. They have an outdoor patio that some owners bring their dogs to.
Totally worth the trip.

Not impressed for the price. The volume of meat on the sandwich I ordered was fair but either it was a bit old or just low quality because it tasted terrible. Thankfully the glob of mayo helped distract away from the meat flavor.

The food is phenomenal and the service is great. Definitely will be coming back. my husband had the Cuban sandwich and I had the Montecristo sandwich. They were absolutely delicious. We ended up taking home half of our sandwiches, and they loaded us down with fries as well, which were out of this world good... so the portion size is on the more generous end for sure. The atmosphere was nice, laid-back, casual very clean. I could definitely see this place becoming one of our favorite places for really good sandwiches, though the menu included many other things.

Good sandwiches. Could probably split the small and still have more than enough to eat.

The flavors of pastrami and corned beef at Mookie’s are nothing short of phenomenal. Imagine biting into a succulent, tender slice of pastrami, its smoky, peppery crust giving way to a symphony of spices that dance on your palate. The corned beef, equally divine, boasts a rich, briny flavor that is both savory and slightly tangy, melting in your mouth with every bite. Each morsel is a reminder of the culinary heritage of New York, evoking memories of bustling delis and the comforting warmth of home-cooked meals. Together, these meats create an unforgettable experience, a true testament to the artistry of traditional New York cuisine.
To top it off, our server, Ariana, was fantastic! She always had a smile on her face and made us feel right at home. Her friendly and attentive service added to the overall wonderful experience. If you're in Cary don’t miss out on this spot!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mookie’s in Cary, and it was an incredible experience that brought back so many fond memories of my childhood. Growing up in Manhattan, just down the street from Uncle Bobby, I remember the vibrant flavors and unique dishes that defined New York cuisine. Mookie’s captures that essence perfectly. The food is not only delicious but also authentic, reminding me of the good old days in the city. From the bustling atmosphere to the friendly service, everything about this place feels like home. Ariana was a fantastic waitress and bartender and I highly recommend asking for her if you dine in. If you're looking for a taste of true New York, this is the spot to visit!
