I almost wanted to give it a 1 star to scare people away. This place may be my new favorite in the triangle. Super authentic and super cool atmosphere. Everything was excellent from food to drinks. Super small so expect a wait and small kitchen so it takes a while. Worth the wait!

I had the pleasure to eat here with my husband. Our waitress was wonderful and we actually have met her from Noodle Blvd. I wish I got her name! She is always so friendly, I got the carbonara udon which never had anything like it before, really good. Best Gyoza I have ever had. My husband got the bento box with chicken he loved it. Nice atmosphere and the tea for two was really nice to share on a rainy day.

Such a delight to have an amazing food Mecca near by. We thoroughly enjoyed Shinmai Shokudo’s dishes. We ordered the carbonara udon, spinach Goma-we, and Iikado to share. Highly recommend the Ochazuke if you like a simple clean dinner set that gives you a taste of a bit of everything about Japanese cuisine. Bento is a good set with a clean crisp vinaigrette dressing. We look forward to trying the Tonkatsu and Curry Don next time. Come early as there are no reservations!
