I went to place a To-Go order at the Kernersville location. I ordered a guacamole regional and a large salsa but only got one bag of chips. When I asked for another bag the gentleman proceeded to argue with me and said the large salsa doesn’t typically come with chips.. he asked if I “understood” and I told him “No, I don’t understand. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! The food was amazing, the service was impeccable (Christopher was so friendly and did not miss a beat with the salsa and drink refills). I would venture to say this is probably the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been to. So glad we stumbled upon it on our way home from vacation. We will definitely make this a regular food stop on our trips to NC!

Monte De Rey Mexican Restaurant is a popular dining spot, known for many regular customers. Its salsa and quick service are highly praised, with staff known to be friendly and welcoming. The food, including the child-friendly quesadillas, receives positive feedback. Recent reviews highlight that the food is delicious and made fresh to order, with generous portions at reasonable prices. Guests appreciate the attentive service, even when seated outside. However, there have been some complaints about the taste of the taco and chile relleno, as well as the cleanliness of the salad. The service and English proficiency of some employees have also been criticized, along with the lack of variety in the televised sports. Improvements in these areas are suggested, but for many, Monte De Rey remains a favorite dining choice.
