Hot Bowl Hibachi Express is a small but interesting spot that offers a unique hibachi dining experience in Clinton. Customers can build their own customized hibachi plates, selecting from a variety of fresh meats, vegetables, and sauces. The restaurant provides a tray with numbered tags, plates, and bowls to help guide the ordering process, although some initial verbal instructions may be lacking.
After customers assemble their desired ingredients, they return the tray to the counter, where the chef prepares the meal on the hibachi grill, bringing the finished dish to the table in a large bowl. Reviewers consistently praise the quality of the food and the skill of the chefs, noting that the separate plates and bowls for vegetables/noodles, proteins, and sauces allow for a well-balanced meal. The food bar is maintained well, and the atmosphere is relaxed with clean tables.
While the menu may have limited protein options, with only beef and chicken available during one visit, the overall value and dining experience are highly regarded. Customers describe Hot Bowl Hibachi Express as a simplified version of a Mongolian barbecue, offering a satisfying and affordable meal. The service is noted to be exceptional, with staff described as pleasant and attentive. The restaurant does have a small parking area, which may require some careful maneuvering, but the consensus is that it’s a great spot for those looking for a high-quality hibachi experience, often leaving customers full and happy.
