Well. I don’t eat breakfast meat or grits, but I liked this place. Local places like this are important. Too many chains. Coffee was good and my eggs over medium were perfect. Toast was white bread but ok. Very busy and pretty crowded. Lady who was our server was very efficient. I’m from Raleigh. Coming home from the beach in the morning I passed up the big chains off 40 and found this place. Support local businesses.

I am so glad they are on doordash now. I have ordered a couple of times, and the food is always delicious. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with a side of grits and French toast. The last time I got the country ham plate and the piece of ham was as big as the plate. I would recommend them to anyone looking some delicious home cooked food.

Very friendly service. Food not very good. Ham way to salty.
Not like it use to be! The restaurant needs to be thoroughly cleaned ie the stove a food prep area. I paid $25 for my wife and I, the meal was awful. I have lived in Clinton for ever but unfortunately I'm not going back. I wish them luck; they are a staple here in Clinton but might be in their own way to succeed.

Like the name says, old-fashioned country diner with an unassuming atmosphere. Lots of great breakfast options. The grits and eggs are always great but make sure you treat yourself to some traditional, salt-cured country ham. Just don't forget to bring cash!

Used to come here with my Grandpa when I was younger. Went again just for old times sake and the food is just as good as I remembered. I would highly recommend this for breakfast.
