Ted's Charcoal Steakhouse

Our family had made reservations for a Christmas dinner at 6 pm tonight 12/14/2025. First off when we got there they couldn't find our reservations. They gave us the room to the left going in. 2nd it took 30 to 45 minutes before we got our beverage. Finally got to order at 8:45 some of our party still hadn't gotten their food. Waitress came and told some they were out of what they ordered. Some of the ones that got their food wasn't cooked right and was send back.Had to keep running them down for refills. Then on top of it all we were saying the grace and a waitress came out and kept standing there yelling do you want refills several times. Very disrespectful waiter and her attitude. This is from an ex waitress also my son Chris Simmons use to word with Mr. Ted at Pizza Hut. There were 22 people in our party. I don't think they'll have to worry about seeing us anytime soon.

Had to order drinks 3 times before they ever brought drinks had to order my wife’s food 4 times before it was brought I got my steak and it was cold I had to ask waitress for refills every time I said something to manager about service and food and asked to discount food and they discounted the bill a whole $2 and still charged a 18% gratuity this is one of the worst places I’ve every been and the food wasn’t worth the price nor the wait do not recommend at all and after reading other comments my experience was not just a off night seems to be an ongoing problem and owner must not care

Waited 45 minutes for our food as we watched lots of takeout orders go out. Also, when we finally got our food, the fries were cold and the steak was under cooked. There were only 6 other people in the restaurant when we got there. Also, we had to ask several times for drink refills. Not a good night at Ted’s!!

We had a family dinner at this restaurant as we have many times before but tonight was terrible. From a lack of service from the waitress to just plain rude behavior. We had to wait an extended time before even getting just our drinks. Then when our food was brought out, it was one plate at a time - two waitress were bringing out the food. They had to be waved down several times for refills or condiments. Then when we were saying grace one waitress rudely kept yelling over the prayer to see who needed a refill, after already being told several times prior. There was also an all around attitude when it came time to pay with rude facial expressions. Servers name according to the ticket is Alyssa, but there was also another waitress that “helped” her while waiting on us. They were also several occasions where we say them just socializing with one another instead of tending to their customers. (This is coming from someone with several years in waitressing. )

Came highly recommended but fell flat. Food was mediocre… got a ribeye med rare came out rare … wife got a blue cheese burger which she really liked. Sautéed mushrooms needed some onions. Waitress seemed new? She was all into the handheld device which took her away from being personable and welcoming. The first thing that hit us was the number of un-bussed, dirty tables there were at 4:30pm . May give them another shot but there is another steakhouse in Clinton that blows these folks away.

I will start by saying that I’ve been here a couple of times and it’s always been good. Tonight was awful and I will not be going back and I usually give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt but it was that bad. We each had ribeye steak with two sides each. The steaks were a poor cut, served cold, but was favored well. We each had baked potatoes that were hot but very overcooked. I had a side of sweet potato fries that were hard, cold, and overcooked. My son had the Mac cheese as a side which was cold. We both left majority of the food there untouched all for a $60 dollar tab. McDonald’s would have been a better choice

Finger holes in my mashed potatoes? Really? Steak was just ok. Basic salad bar was the best thing about the place. Not worth the price!

Tea was great, mashed potatoes serving was on the skimpy side for 2.99 extra. Salad bar to little. Not enough choices. I ordered my 8oz sirloin med well. It was TO done. Ranch dressing was to watered down. Probably won't be back.

We celebrate my friend birthday 7/26/25 and it is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST SERVICE , FOOD AND DRINK. What should have been a ribeye I got sirloin smh never ever AGAIN.

Server was great but food was not $15.99 for 6 unseasoned grilled shrimp and a scoop of mac n cheese and a piece of toast. $10.99 for Hamburger steak is reasonable but it was burnt mashed potatoes were good and that was about it. For the expensive prices I think it should of taken me to flavor town.

Picking up a load in Smithfield. I bobtailed here. I love Hamburger Steak(HS). I read the reviews and was skeptical but I ordered the Large HS with onion, mushroom & gravy anyway. Hmmm Hmmm. Mine was delicious😋. Wasn’t burnt at all. They grilled theirs, giving it even more flavor. They forgot my onions and gravy but I had both on my truck. Sliced me some onions. Put some Heinz beef gravy in a bowl and warmed it up in my microwave. Poured over my HS. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good. I also added the green beans. They char the green beans absolutely delicious. I give the meal a 9 only because they forgot the gravy & onions. But adding my own made it a 10. Very seasoned. I will order again when I’m in the area
