Can't tell you anything about the wine here. We were visiting from Wisconsin and drove 20 minutes from Lake Lure. Sign in the window says they are open, but both doors are locked and they are not open. Checked online and it also says they are open. We waited outiside over 20 minutes before leaving.
We like to visit wineries wherever we go. We found the winery to be unique and fun. We like dry wines and the Chardonnay was excellent! Would recommend to anyone.
great place, delicious wine, nice host! everything is harmonious!
Amazing place!
It's very true with Andrej and his wine tasting. The wines are very tasty ?
Really nice all day man’s spa experience with great host Andrei
Their Russian Banya was incredible. The owner Andrew was super kind and accommodating. We enjoyed sampling his wine. We will definitely be back.
Very unique wines! We were blessed to visit at a time we were able to do a tasting with Andre, the owner. It was fascinating to hear him talk about his wines and his Russian heritage. We enjoyed our time at this winery very much. We look forward to visiting again in the future!
Fantastic find! A little off the beaten path and well worth the travel. One of the better Chardonnay's we've had. Very nice facility, cozy, great ambience. A new favorite destination.
Great place! It exceeded all of our expectations. Will definitely go back!

we've been coming to the Russian Chapel Hills winery since 2013- 7 months aftercits opening and have been coming every year since. Andre is one of thr most humble people I know and one of my favorite small local wine makers in the area. His European style wines abs tasting room are absolutely beautiful and the wines are wonderful. one of my friends who has lived abroad said his winery took her back to the days she lived in Europe and absolutely loved his wines. it's a little off the beaten path but the hospitality and warmess of the owner is second to none. I highly recommend you stop in and see one of my favorite business owners. You'll be glad you did.
When I got there a woman said he was in the fields. Then here he was. A beautiful smile. Everyone was very nice. I walked up the stairs and into the room. My lips said Holy House. He looked at me..I tasted two wines. The one I chose probably wasn't the one he thought I would. It was absolutely fabulous. A Russian Vodka undertone. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We visited 4 wineries within the area, tasting their wines. By far, our favorite wines were at the Russian Chapel Hills Winery. The winery & vineyards are a bit off the beaten track but the wines are well worth going there to taste & buy. These wines are made in the old European style of greater complexity, sophistication, & dryness rather than the other local area wineries with their more typical American style of fruity forward tasting wines. I heartily recommend the winemaker, Alexei’s, 2015 Cabernet (100% Cabernet), his Tosca (80% Merlot/20% Sangiovese), his unusual but delicious Kagor (Communion Chalice wine) and his 2015 Sauvignon Blanc. After decanting his wines and letting them breathe for an hour, the full complexities and tastes were stunning and pronounced. Simply stated, these are superb crafted wines! And, the winemaker/owner, Alexei is gracious and exceedingly knowledgeable.
In addition to excellent wine and beautiful scenery, you can take a steam bath in a real bathhouse. Have a great time with your family! Just like at home. I recommend to all!
Wines were pretty good, and tasting room was nice, but it looks like the owner has given up. Grounds are not maintained and it doesn't look like they are growing any grapes anymore.
