Love coming to Canal Coffee when I lived in Concord. Wish there was one closer in Charlotte/Mint Hill area, so I can continue to give support and grab a delicious coffee on my way to work!

As a coffee snob, I can honestly say, why do you guys go to Starbucks when a place like this exists? I got the sea salt caramel Machiatto and it was absolutely ridiculous. I loved that I could actually taste the flavor of the drink without it being too overpowering/sweet or too milky; you can still taste the coffee and they chose the right blend for this type of drink. The drink was overall very balanced and also inexpensive. I typically make my coffee at home but this was so worth the money!

Had my first visit at the recommendation of my parents and I am not disappointed at all. I was thrilled to find out that unlike most coffee places Canal carries pumpkin spice and peppermint mocha all year round! Staff was super friendly and I felt I actually got more than what I paid for unlike the sizing and portions of other coffee shops. 10/10 definitely recommend!!

UPDATE: The business has responded that they do this (won’t let you pull up to the menu board to order) to minimize busy times with lots of cars. The following review took place when I was the only car pulled up to the business with no other vehicles in line or at the window, & I’ve never seen this place (on an afternoon around 1-2, when I go) have more than 1-2 other cars in line, so let’s be real about the fact you make them do it no matter what, all day. REVIEW: I love the baristas here & the drink flavors are good (& different)! The issue with this place is the owners or manager really make them worry about the drive-thru times, so they don’t allow you to pull up the window to order. They’re very protective or something about being allowed to order at the window. I always come after a vet appt (every few months) & I just don’t have the money memorized and I also genuinely enjoy seeing the photos of the seasonal drink creations & choosing from that offering. When you pull up, though, someone pops out of the back door & asks what they can get you with a handheld register & no menu. When you ask to see the menu so you can see the seasonal drinks it’s just very clear they don’t want you to pull forward to see the menu. Sometimes they will have a handheld laminated menu with them, sometimes not, so over time this creates an unwelcoming & frankly annoying vibe. I’m there to spend $20 or so & give a $10-$20 cash tip every time, so today I just left without ordering because I’m really getting tired of feeling like I’m not supposed to be there or fully see the menu when I stop by. It’s been this way for more than a year & I really wish they’d install a new menu sign at the back door since that’s where they want you to order.
