A China Q II’s two page flier came in the mail last week. My sister gave it to me because she knows I love good Asian food, but being from Denver, CO, it is very difficult to find the type of true Asian food that I love. To get the best Asian food, you should go to where there is a large Asian community, which I have not found in the Charlotte area in the last three years I have been here. My constant search is to find the perfect MaPo Tofu in the area. It is a bit of a process to make MaPo Tofu correctly, and so that might be part of the reason it is so difficult to find, plus you have to make it correctly and have it available when ordered; it practically has to be already made. MaPo Tofu is one of the most popular Sichuan dishes from the Sichuan province of China, and it is known around the world. In the areas of the nation where there are not that many Asians (like here), you will find that MaPo Tofu is also called Bean Curd Szechuan style. Until coming here, that has always meant MaPo Tofu. Seeing this on the flyer and the price of $9.80, I thought that it was in the correct price range, so I called there to ask about it. I specifically asked about the MaPo Tofu, not Bean Curd Szechuan style. I asked if they use the real Szechuan peppercorn, which is actually prickly ash, and they said they do not use that they use a sauce. So, I knew then that it would not be as good as the real deal. Then I asked if the MaPo Tofu has ground pork in it, which is very traditional, but outside the province of Szechuan, some people will add hamburger rather than ground pork. I do not eat beef. I decided to go there to have lunch yesterday, October 27, 2025. Once there, I start to look at the menu and I see that the prices for many of the items are different than what the flyer states. The flyer was just delivered in the mail a few days ago. Now, I had just called the place less than an hour before I got there. I ordered the MaPo Tofu. The same woman I spoke to on the phone then tells me the MaPo Tofu is $12.98! What!?!?! I see $9.98 on the flyer. Then she asked, do you want it with pork? Well, of course I do, and she informed me that the MaPo Tofu with pork is $14.98! Without question, that is the highest price I have ever seen/heard of for this dish. I point out that in most of this nation, Bean Curd Szechuan style and MaPo Tofu are the same thing, just worded differently, and the fact that MaPo Tofu is NOT on the menu. Then I mention how the new flyers’ prices do not match their in-house menu prices. The lunch menu on the flyer had the price of $7.90 crossed out and $8.90 written over the original price. But the lunch price on the menu is higher than that! She said that they have three different sizes for lunch. Again, that is not on the flyer, nor the menu. I knew at that point, there was no reason to stay there any longer, so I left and went to another Asian restaurant. Once you lived around Asian communities and have been to Asian, you can sense this is food made for fat Southerners and certainly not Asians, especially those from the Sichuan province of China. No, I am not Asian, I am Italian French. Personally, I found this place to be very deceptive. I will never go back there again!
I have gotten general TOS chicken with extra sauce with fried rice and the chicken wasn't cooked right and didn't taste good at all it was nasty and they gave me more rice then chicken if u want Chinese food don't go to China q it was horrible and very nasty I wouldn't recommend anyone to that restaurant
I recently moved from Vegas and this has been my go to spot. The food and service is always high quality. Every time I’ve ordered, I’ve waited no more than 20 minutes which to me is very convenient for quality food. I haven’t walked through the front door without being greeted in a welcoming way so I won’t be ordering elsewhere for sure.

I just moved to Concord and the kindest Ms. Bing greeted me, let me know they had additional vegetarian options not on the menu, and she also included a special vegetarian treat. Incredibly quick service, and the food is absolutely phenomenal! Cannot recommend more highly.
Will definitely become a regular!

We have been ordering from China Q II for years and it will always be our go-to. They know just how I like my Singaporean noodles and I get so much food for the money. Easily three meals for me from one container.
Like a lot of small businesses, the pandemic closures and issues hit them hard but we’re thrilled they’re still here. The owner treats us like family and we appreciate her so much.

They made our food absolutely way too spicy. General so was sooooo bad and same with the orange chicken. Weve gotten it from here before and it was not this spicy at all. All I can taste is spicy there’s no flavor. ? The chicken was hard. Some pieces were soft but most of it was breading. The egg rolls were really really good the donuts are very good . We are from up north so we know what good Chinese food taste like and this was just disgusting. So disappointing?

I had high hopes for China Q II, but sadly, it fell flat on every level. As soon as I walked in, I was hit with an odd smell that lingered throughout the meal—definitely not the appetizing aroma I expected from a Chinese restaurant. The decor felt outdated and a bit dingy, which didn't help set a welcoming atmosphere. It was like stepping into a time warp that desperately needed a refresh. Now, let’s get to the food. I ordered the beef and broccoli, hoping for a classic dish done right. What I received was a mushy mess with overcooked beef that tasted bland and rubbery. The broccoli was practically swimming in a flavorless sauce that seemed like it had been watered down. My friend went with the Kung Pao chicken, which was equally disappointing. It lacked the expected kick and was instead an unappetizing mix of chewy chicken and soggy peanuts. If there were any spices involved, they must have been hiding in shame. The service wasn’t any better. Our server seemed distracted and unenthusiastic, barely checking on us during the meal. When I asked for a drink refill, it took ages for someone to notice. To top it all off, the cleanliness of the restaurant left a lot to be desired. The tables felt sticky, and the bathroom was not much better—definitely not somewhere you’d want to visit during your meal. Overall, China Q II was a disappointment from start to finish. If you’re looking for a great Chinese meal, I suggest you keep searching. There are plenty of better options out there that won’t leave you wishing you had cooked at home instead.
pretty good rice chicken tasted like dog probably would go again Leo was nice but his brother was playing games and cursing in the background
Some little kid peed in my rice and the seaseme chicken looked like if my dog ate a pile of horse poop and throw it up into a blender before pooping on top and searching it to me
