Ellie's Diner Inside The Depot at Gibson Mill

A great variety of delicious choices!! Try the Mango Chicken. Or the Arepas!. Or the Cuban. Or...It just keeps going!

After a couple hours of antiquing, my wife and I were a bit hungry and were delighted to find a place to eat inside The Depot at Gibson Mill.My wife ordered an Italian Combo Paninis with a side of Cole slaw. She liked it, a lot; even the side of Cole slaw. A lot of times something like Cole slaw is an afterthought, not here. She said the best she's ever had.I noticed Venezuelan food on the menu and when I saw the flag of Venezuela inside the cook shack, I know I had to try. I ordered Tequeños for us to share. Tequeños are breaded cheese sticks which are fried and served with this amazing dipping sauce. They were excellent!My lunch consisted of Arepas with shredded chicken inside. Wow! Maybe the best thing I have eaten in quite a while. The taste was out of this world. I read somewhere Arepas are the ultimate street food in Venezuela. I'll look for food trucks with Venezuelan food here in the Raleigh area for sure. And make another trek to The Depot - this time with Ellie's Diner on my mind with the antiquing, secondary!

You can spend days in here and still not see everything! Treasures tucked into every nook and cranny. My only wish is that we lived closer to it, or that we would have brought a large trailer. Haha. We ate at the little eatery and it was amazing as well!

Love this place and love the homemade quality of the food. You know what you're eating. Never had anything here that wasn't great and yes the staff is very friendly. This is not your everyday sandwich shop inside an antique mall. All the food is prepared to order, simple and delicious.

Browsing for all ages! We brought visiting family members here and they were blown away by the size and volume of items here. We lr=eft with a car load of stuff. Highly recommend.

We waited 35 minutes for 2 hotdogs. That is crazy.

An absolute pleasure to eat here!!! Had no idea this hidden gem of a restaurant was tucked away inside this mall. Just WOW!!! Delicious, fresh options. Manager is fantastic!!!

What a FUN find! Mom’s in town so we visited the depot & had lunch at this diner; WOW! We had different soups & sandwiches. All FRESH & made to order; the owner was present & such a delight! We will be back!

I’ve been here a few times with my husband. It’s the best antique mall we’ve ever visited and we’ve been to a lot of them. I found a wonderful vintage St Francis garden statue and some retro espresso coffee cups with saucers. This is my new favorite place. Highly recommend it. Big thanks to Brian, the young man that helped me with my garden statue purchase.

If you come here to just look it will take you at least half a day. Huge place loaded with antiques and new crafts from end to end. We come here from time to time to see if anything new has found its way here. Great place to spend a day and it has a great place to eat as well inside called Ellie's. Oh, and it is air conditioned!

The chicken burrito was out of this world. I would highly recommend this place all the ladies are kind and excellent cooks

They make their food from scratch. Everything we ate was delicious! The people there were so friendly too.
