First off, the one star reviews talking about a 30 minute wait are obviously together and coordinated. Some of the nicest ladies work here, and it may take a few minutes on the busiest if days, but not as long as those reviews claim.

2nd off, the deli sandwiches are rather unique and the gals make them very well. That being said I usually get 2 hot dogs, they make em really good with fresh chili and slaw. Sometimes a BLT and they are good too. The triple cheese grilled cheese is good too but I prefer it without the grainy mustard.

This deli is located in the back corner of the mills near the fabrics section.

Vegetarian options: Grilled cheese, a veggie sandwich that sounds good, and a cheese sandwich.

The ladies were SO nice, the service was quick, and the caprese sandwich was THE BEST SANDWICH I've ever had! The potato salad???? It was rich and creamy and INCREDIBLE, I would come back just to eat here and to take a pound of potato salad home!!!

2 employees no hot sandwiches and refused to make any other sandwiches, turned away several customers. Horrible rude service.

Over 30 minutes for a hot dog and a bowl of soup….. Either order well in advance and plan to shop or sit in misery watching it be slowly prepared

First time visitor to the mall and my wife wanted to eat there at the deli since it was convenient. The staff was very energetic and friendly, and I commented to my wife that you don't find employees that are that happy at work very often. The food was really good I had the intimidator and my wife had a Reuben. Very delicious. Somehow they prepare the meat different than it other delis in the meat was almost like crumbled like the chicken and the roast beef instead of regular deli slices. It made the sandwich fluffier and tastier. The woman making the sandwiches knows about mayonnaise, meaning not too much not too little. The coleslaw was great. It was a creamy blend I think with dill in it. I would recommend again.

Waited 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches before giving up and getting a refund. There were still 17 tickets ahead of ours. When I said something, the woman cooking said it was my fault for looking at how many tickets were ahead of mine!? Blamed it on their toaster. The other 2 people "working" were basically wondering around aimlessly. If you're behind and it's going to take an extended period of time, give people a heads up. It isnt the customer's job to know how many tickets are ahead of theirs.

This place needs more employees. We waited 45 minutes for two sandwiches and the person before us waited 45 minutes for a hot dog. The sandwiches were good but made with special bread. They were small.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this deli in the middle of the Gibson Mill, but I'm SO glad I tried them out.The Intimidator sandwich is amazing!! The bread is soft and fresh, and the boar's head meat is always the best. You HAVE to give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.

During my visits to The Depot at Gibson Mill, I always enjoyed the food at Ellie's Diner. The owners left the space and it was replaced by The Depot Deli run by the neighboring Cabarrus Brewery. The food isn't bad, but it is not as good as the previous occupant and a bit of a ripoff. Instead of offering a side with the sandwiches, they ask if you want the combo -- you aren't getting any bargain here. What it means is you pay the price of sandwich, THREE dollars for a drink, and for 50 cents more you get a side. What it should be is, as with Ellie's, you get the sandwich and a choice of "free" side for the price of a sandwich and a drink for a lot less than $3. A local coffee shop offers a panini sandwich with a side and their combo is a drink for 50 cents -- not THREE dollars. In addition, the sandwiches appear big, but they are mostly dressing and very messy. The Reuben and the Carolina Broiled have very little meat. We tried the place twice, but the third time, well, there will not be a third time. On a positive note, the service is good, but much improvement needed on the food, drinks, and prices. We'll go elsewhere next time. NOTE: NO CASH BUT CREDIT CARD ONLY. Be careful on the "tip" screen... you can select "no tip" and leave cash (only accepted for tips). Remember, you are not getting table service. Only deli counter.
